Titans drafted Cal C Brian Schwenke with the No. 107 overall pick.
Schwenke (6-foot-3, 314) started 36 games at Cal, learning to zone block under coach Jeff Tedford. He's a zone-scheme fit. With 32-inch arms, Schwenke will have to stay on the interior in the pros but saw college starts at left guard, center, and right guard. Pac-12 coaches voted him first-team all conference as a senior center, as Schwenke allowed only three QB hurries and was called for just one penalty. He scored a 31 on the Wonderlic. Schwenke is very quick at snapping and pulling, and will be a part of the transformation for the Titans' interior offensive line. Sat, Apr 27, 2013 12:41:00 PM

Former NFL scout Bryan Broaddus believes Cal's Brian Schwenke would fit the Cowboys well as a zone blocking center.

Schwenke is an aggressive interior blocker who lacks tremendous qualities in many other areas but compensates with his style of play. If the team passes on a guard early on, they could target Schwenke on the second day to play center.

Cal C Brian Schwenke worked out for the Falcons on Saturday.

Schwenke has earned the praise of Mike Mayock during the pre-draft process due to his quick feet and aggression. He likely projects best in a zone blocking scheme, but Schwenke is feisty and latches on to control his opponents. A third-round selection is possible.

Cal C Brian Schwenke is a "grinder that gets the job done," according to Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl.

Weidl adds that there is "nothing pretty about his game." Schwenke played center and guard throughout his career at Cal. Despite his smallish stature, the Bear is feisty and aggressive, and likely projects best to a zone blocking scheme.

Cal's Brian Schwenke is ranked as Mike Mayock's second C in the 2013 class.

Schwenke only checks in behind Wisconsin's Travis Frederick. Mayock consistently praised Schwenke during Senior Bowl week for his aggression and attitude despite possibly possessing the size that projects to a zone blocking scheme.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock named Cal C Brian Schwenke as his second biggest Senior Bowl week riser, behind only Central Michigan LT Eric Fisher.

"I think I was in the minority. I came here thinking (Schwenke) could be a starting center in the league," said Mayock. "I loved his quickness and explosion off the ball. But what he did better than I thought was anchor. He had a reputation of being a smaller center, undersized zone guy. A zone team is gonna fall in love with him and he's gonna start at the center position very quickly." Schwenke was a 48-game starter at Cal, seeing action at both guard spots before staying at center as a senior.
