Illinois State edge rusher David Perkins believes his game translates nicely to the NFL.
Perkins, a former stud recruit and an Ohio State transfer, logged 69 tackles, 12 TFL and 8.5 sacks last season. "I was behind [Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker] Ryan Shazier. I decided to transfer," he said. "I wanted the opportunity to play more and put my career in my own hands. I transferred to Illinois State and I’ve led the team in sacks every year I’ve been here." Perkins had 64 tackles, 12 TFL, eight sacks and one interception in 2014. The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder has run the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds. Bowling Green will not be among the possible landing spots for former Ohio State sophomore LB David Perkins, according to Eleven Warriors.

"The Falcons have been ruled out because Perkins was arrested on while on a visit to campus Memorial Day weekend," per Eleven Warriors. Perkins did receive an offer from Notre Dame while in high school, but we expect he lands at a different program.

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer announced that sophomore LB David Perkins is no longer a part of the football program.

This means Perkins will transfer to another school. He played special teams and acted as depth during his first year in Columbus, appearing in nine games and registering six tackles.
