Texans selected Auburn FB Jay Prosch with the No. 211 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Prosch (6-foot 3/4, 256) spent his first two college seasons at Illinois before finishing up as a two-year starter for the Tigers, all told handling 14 career carries with 11 catches. As a senior, Prosch was strictly a lead blocker for Tre Mason. He ran 4.72 with a 32-inch vertical at Auburn's Pro Day, pumping 27 reps on the bench. Prosch is a traditional lead blocker with special teams value. May 10 - 5:20 PM

Auburn beat writer Joel A. Erickson believes senior FB Jay Prosch's main duty will continue to be lead blocking.

"He has the hands to be active in the passing game, and he has some short-yardage skills, but he's a fullback, and that's where his best skills are," Erickson wrote. "Prosch touched the ball more last year than he ever did at Illinois." Head coach Gus Malzahn called Prosch the MVP of spring activities and projects him as an H-back.
