Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo completed 14-of-29 attempts for 124 yards in Saturday's 16-3 loss to UL-Lafayette in the New Orleans Bowl.
The Wolfpack weren't competitive in the game, mustering only 213 total offensive yards, and a good portion of the blame can be placed at Fajardo's feet. As the focal point of Nevada's offense, the team generally goes as Fajardo does, and he was both inaccurate and tentative in this one. Fajardo, generally a rushing threat, was easily bottled up by the Ragin' Cajuns; he finished with 49 rushing yards on 13 carries. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Fajardo is seen by some as a Day 3 pick. We don't see a draftable prospect. Dec 20 - 4:39 PM

Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo ran for 143 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's win over UNLV.

Nevada didn't ask Fajardo to throw much; he finished 5-for-13 for 46 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. ESPN's Mel Kiper recently labeled Fajardo as the season's biggest QB riser. "Fajardo has gone from nonexistent on most boards to a possible Day 3 pick," Kiper wrote. "The senior is an above-average athlete, throws well on the run and shows poise facing pressure. A project, sure, but he has been just as successful as Colin Kaepernick in the same college offense."

ESPN's Mel Kiper calls Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo the season's biggest QB riser, and believes the prospect might now get drafted.

"Fajardo has gone from nonexistent on most boards to a possible Day 3 pick," Kiper wrote. "The senior is an above-average athlete, throws well on the run and shows poise facing pressure. A project, sure, but he has been just as successful as Colin Kaepernick in the same college offense." That's pretty high praise, though, it's necessary to point out, Kaepernick clearly had superior tools. Fajardo has 2,328 passing yards and 854 rushing yards this year.

Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo will attend the East West Shrine game.

Fajardo once drew some buzz at the position, but that was likely due to people trying to latch on to potential prospects and it has since tailed off. This season, he has completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 2,328 for 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, the worst numbers of his career.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline believes Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo's NFL stock is falling.

"Scouts were high on Nevada’s dual threat quarterback entering the season," Pauline wrote. "And while the senior displays a good deal of athleticism in his game he also shows a large degree of inaccuracy in his throwing. Except for one outstanding performance against Arizona, Fajardo has completed under 60% against every other IA opponent this season. On film he makes receivers work too hard as they are continually slowing in routes, reaching backwards or getting vertical to make the grab." The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Fajardo will remain the focal point of Nevada's offense for the remainder of the season, but he's going to have to improve his productivity through the air to get a sniff in war rooms.
Oct 13 - 9:12 PM

Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo completed 29-of-39 attempts for 321 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in a 35-28 loss to Arizona on Saturday.

The Wolf Pack needed a huge game from Fajardo to have a shot at the upset, and their star signal-caller obliged. Nevada came up short, but Fajardo cut himself some nice game film to offer NFL scouts. TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline wrote over the summer that NFL scouts "really like" the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder. His shot of getting drafted will skyrocket if he can remain healthy throughout the season.
Sep 15 - 12:56 AM

Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo completed 12-of-21 attempts for 110 yards, and rushed 16 times for 100 yards in a 24-13 win against Washington State.

Nevada's defense strangled Washington State, and Brian Polian basically used his offense to drain the clock, refusing to take chances that might lead to turnovers. It worked: Nevada won the time of possession battle and didn't commit a turnover. That's how you win when you're outgained 428-to-324. As for the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Fajardo, he will remain the focal point of Nevada's offense for the remainder of the season. TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline wrote over the summer that NFL scouts "really like" him.
Sep 6 - 2:29 AM

Utah State senior QB Cody Fajardo completed 30 of 41 attempts for 303 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the school's 28-19 win over Southern Utah.

Fajardo added 68 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Nevada quarterback missed two games last season. He should get consideration for a postseason all star game.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler thinks Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo's "physical tools are more average than above average."

"Fajardo has a quick release with efficient eyes to work through his reads," Brugler wrote. "He has been productive, but has also thrown a lot of safe, high completion throws on tape in Nevada's pistol spread offense that emphasizes more of a horizontal attack rather than vertical." The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Fajardo has decent size, but there are questions with his ability to stay healthy. TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline wrote earlier this month that NFL scouts "really like" him.

NFL scouts "really like" Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo, according to TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Fajardo has decent size, but there are questions with his ability to stay healthy. "He’s a mobile passer with a good arm yet a signal caller who forces passes into double coverage and sprays throws," Pauline wrote. Fajardo isn't terribly athletic, and not everybody agrees with Pauline's assessment that he has good arm strength. The Wolfpack signal-caller will be watched closely by the NFL this year.
Jul 4 - 2:06 PM

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes that Nevada senior QB Cody Fajardo "is a solid player" and a "smart competitor" with "efficient delivery."

"QB Cody Fajardo is a solid player. Efficient delivery, smart competitor. Average physical tools in an offense that won't test his arm much," Brugler tweeted. The 6-foot-2, 215 pound Fajardo has good size, but there are questions with his ability to stay healthy. The Nevada prospect's downfield arm strength and the level of competition in the Mountain West are are also a concern for some evaluators. If Farjadi has a solid 2014 season with no injuries it could help his stock moving into the 2015 draft.
Jun 22 - 8:41 AM

Nevada junior QB Cody Fajardo is questionable for Saturday's game against San Jose State with a foot injury.

Fajardo suffered the injury very late in last weekend's game against Colorado State. "Cody is limited right now," head coach Brian Polian said. "I don’t anticipate it being a major issue, but I’m not going to tell you as of now he will absolutely play in the game." Fajardo did return to practice on Wednesday. Redshirt freshman Tyler Stewart would start in Fajardo's place.

Nevada junior QB Cody Fajardo completed 14-of-24 attempts for 206 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a 41-23 loss to Fresno State on Saturday.

Fajardo added 98 rushing yards, his second-highest total of the season. The junior accumulated 3,907 total yards in 2012; if he doesn't reach that number again, it will only be because of health. Fajardo missed two games earlier this season and has thrown for more than 350 yards in three of five contests since his return.

Nevada junior QB Cody Fajardo completed 33 of 51 attempts for 393 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-44 loss to San Diego State.

Fajardo added 54 rushing yards. The junior was wearing a noticeable brace on his right knee and flashed falling off his throws a bit more often. He didn't have the same escapability that we've come to know with Fajardo, but he's an intriguing talent at the position.

Nevada junior QB Cody Fajardo is hopeful to play against Hawaii on Saturday after missing last weekend's contest against FSU due to a knee sprain.

Head coach Brian Polian said he can't guarantee Fajardo's status, but was optimistic the junior passer will suit up in the school's MWC debut. Nevada lost their backup quarterback to an ACL tear against FSU, so third stringer Tyler Stewart will start if Fajardo remains out.
