Texans selected Alabama DE Jeoffrey Pagan with the No. 177 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Pagan (6-foot-3, 310) was a surprise entrant into the draft following a two-sack junior season, his only as a starter for the Crimson Tide. The former four-star recruit was ultimately a college disappointment. Allegedly once compared to Jevon Kearse by Urban Meyer during the recruiting process, Pagan sat out both the Combine and Alabama's Pro Day due to a shoulder injury. He's a 20-year-old project with theoretical tools but scant production. May 10 - 3:57 PM

Alabama junior DL Jeoffrey Pagan received a third-round grade from the NFL's draft advisory board.

It was a surprising decision from a prospect that hasn't been discussed much by experts. Pagan said he would have returned to Alabama for another year if his projection had been lower than the fourth round.

Alabama junior DL Jeoffrey Pagan will enter the NFL draft.

"He’s not a name many know, but he has the build/skill set to play at the next level," beat writer Alex Scarborough writes. Pagan earned praise form Todd McShay prior to the season, but he lacked production and impact this year.

Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay believes Alabama junior DL Jeoffrey Pagan could break out in 2013.

McShay started to see more flashes from Pagan during the late stages of 2012 and notes the defensive lineman is stout versus the run but "also converts speed-to-power" as a pass rusher. Expect Pagan to start at defensive end in Alabama's three and four man fronts.
