Bucs selected Wyoming WR Robert Herron with the No. 185 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Herron (5-foot-8 7/8, 193) is built more like a slot receiver but ran a lot of deep routes for the Cowboys, compiling 152 career catches for 2,030 yards (13.4 YPR) and 20 touchdowns. An early-career tailback, Herron is a physical, tough-to-jam wideout with 4.48 wheels and an explosive 10-foot-5 broad jump. Herron is likely to focus on the slot in the pros, and has the makeup to excel there with sure hands and aggressive run-after-catch ability. May 10 - 4:10 PM

The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reports, that the Miami Dolphins sent special teams coach Darren Rizzi to see how Wyoming WR Robert Herron "could do as a returner" during his private workout.

Herron wrote in his USA Today diary: "My workout with the Dolphins went very well. I was catching punts and kicks. This was the first time I actually did that. The other workouts were running routes. I didn't catch punts at all in college. At practice, I did some, but I haven't in a game. I told them I haven't done it since high school. It actually went very well, though. I caught them more fluidly than I thought I would," Herron wrote. The Cowboys prospect could hear his name called in the third-round of the draft.

The Dolphins are visiting Wyoming WR Robert Herron Tuesday and Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Team visits and workouts end shortly, so this could be considered a "last minute" type trip. Herron does his best work from the slot, showing slippery ability off the line of scrimmage and speed to get vertical. He should be a third-round pick at the earliest.

Wyoming WR Robert Herron's visit with the Saints, which began Wednesday, will bleed into Thursday.

Drew Brees will appreciate the wheels on this burner. Herron recorded a low 4.3 forty sprint at his pro day workout, proving what most already knew: He can take the top off any defense. He's also a nice fit for New Orleans in that he's extremely difficult to jam at the line against man coverage.

Patriots staff members worked out Wyoming WR Robert Herron 1-on-1 after the school's pro day.

After running a 4.48 forty at the NFL Combine, Herron recorded a low 4.3 second sprint at the pro day workout. This fits the slot receiver's game more, but the big difference is a bit questionable. Herron could draw a third-round pick. He is extremely slippery at the line of scrimmage against press man coverage.

NFL.com's Mike Huguenin believes Wyoming WR Robert Herron "might be the fastest receiver at the combine."

"Expect a sub-4.4 40 time," wrote Huguenin. "He should test well in the other events, too." Herron was hugely productive at Wyoming, forming one of the nation's most underrated aerial duos with QB Brett Smith. Yes, Herron is undersized, but we've been on his bandwagon since the summer. He's got serious wheels and sticky hands. Draft insider Tony Pauline compared Herron to Don Beebe in the fall.

West area scouts are buzzing about Wyoming senior WR Rob Herron, according to draft insider Tony Pauline.

Pauline is also a fan of Herron's, saying the receiver's film reminds him "an awful lot of Don Beebe." Herron likely projects to the slot, but he has displayed vertical ability to work beyond coverages. Our own Josh Norris listed Herron as a possible emerging talent this summer.

NFL.com's Gil Brandt rates Wyoming senior WR Rob Herron as the No. 2 senior wide out.

Brandt notes that the sub-4.4 40-yard dash speedster also has good quickness and "very good hands." Herron caught eight touchdowns and averaged 21.2 yards per catch in 2012. "A lot of scouts will be going to Laramie, Wyo. to watch this kid from California," Brandt writes.
