Iowa LB James Morris is a "good athlete who needs to get stronger," writes NFL.com draft analyst Gil Brandt.
The analyst likes Morris' ability to play in space. At Iowa's pro day on Monday, Morris ran the 40-yard dash in 4.60 and 4.59 seconds. He added a 4.17-second short shuttle time, a 6.86-second three-cone time, a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot broad jump, and 18 bench reps. Mar 24 - 11:28 PM

Iowa senior LB James Morris reportedly played through a groin injury throughout the 2012 season.

He suffered the injury during preseason camp, but continued to play through it. "When talking about injuries, I don’t like to talk about it," said Morris. "I think it’s disrespectful to my teammates. There are guys on the offensive, defensive line who are playing with a lot of injuries that you don’t know about. They’re not high-profile players." Morris is lining up as an inside linebacker, but his NFL projection might be at a different spot.

Draft insider Tony Pauline prefers Iowa senior LB James Morris over Michigan State senior Max Bullough.

Pauline says Morris is a better three down defender. That coverage and range aspect to Morris' game will be greatly valued by evaluators, however, neither prospect will likely sneak past the second day.
