Ohio State HC Urban Meyer said that junior TE Marcus Baugh is "playing the best football of his life."
"He is playing at a very high level," Meyer said. While the yardage still has not come for Baugh -- he has yet to surpass 45 yards receiving in a game -- the 6-foot-5, 258-pounder has now caught touchdown passes in three consecutive contests, including the game-winner in OSU's 39-38 win over Penn State last weekend. Ohio State HC Urban Meyer said that he would "like to get (junior TE Marcus Baugh) more and more involved."

"He's never achieved what he can be," Meyer said of the 6-foot-5, 258-pound Baugh. However, Meyer also added that he's "seeing signs" that the junior tight end might be on the cusp of a breakout game. Through four contests, Baugh has caught a modest six passes for 69 yards. He is still looking for his first touchdown of the campaign after finding the end zone twice last season.

Ohio State junior TE Marcus Baugh (shoulder) remains out for spring practice.

No surprise here. Baugh has been sidelined for the entirety of the spring practice rigmarole as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery. Buckeyes HC Urban Meyer likes what he has seen in Baugh's absence, singling out tight end as the most improved positional group this spring and specifically citing A.J. Alexander as "really coming on." As for the 6-foot-5, 258-pound Baugh, he looks like he will be ready for August camp barring a setback. He led OSU tight ends with a 24-269-2 receiving line this past season.

Ohio State junior TE Marcus Baugh will return for his final season of collegiate eligibility in 2017.

Entering the 2016 campaign, Baugh had just posted just three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown through his first two seasons with the Buckeyes. The 6-foot-5, 258-pound junior was far more integrated in the offense this time around, as he finished out the past season working to a 24-269-2 receiving line. With both Curtis Samuel and Noah Brown moving on to the NFL, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Baugh match or surpass his 2016 numbers next season.

Ohio State HC Urban Meyer said that sophomore TE Marcus Baugh (shoulder) will play against Bowling Green on Saturday.

Baugh is expected to take over the role vacated by Nick Vannett. Ohio State's offense generally doesn't gear toward getting the tight end touches, but the 6-foot-5, 258-pounder said early in August camp that he has "a pretty good role in the offense, better than (for tight ends) in past years" and that "[t]he way it’s looking right now, I have a pretty good role in the passing game." Last season, he caught two passes for 32 yards while playing behind Nick Vannett. While fantasy tight end is a relatively thin position, Baugh doesn't make for a particularly appealing target.

Ohio State freshman TE Marcus Baugh was issued a citation for the underage consumption of alcohol on Friday.

Baugh was also popped for underage drinking in mid-July and September. Because this isn't the first time he's run afoul of the law, Baugh faces a two-game suspension from the Buckeyes, according to the Columbus Dispatch. The first-year tight end was suspended for the 2013 opener after that July citation.

Ohio State freshman TE Marcus Baugh has been banned from team facilities activities until he completes his community service requirements.

Baugh was recently arrested for underage consumption and carrying a fake ID. This is a message being sent from Urban Meyer to a program that has struggled with off-field issues in recent years. We don't expect Baugh to miss significant time, however.

Ohio State freshman tight end Marcus Baugh was arrested on Sunday morning and is being arraigned for underage consumption, a misdemeanor, and carrying a fake ID.

The four-star 2013 recruit pleaded not guilty to the charges and a pre-trial will be scheduled. Ohio State has yet to publicly comment on Baugh's situation. The 18-year-old is likely facing fines and court costs as punishment, in addition to a possible suspension.
