Ohio State senior OW Donte Wilson (undisclosed) has been cleared to play in Saturday's game against Michigan.
Wilson did not travel with the Buckeyes for their weekend win over Michigan State due to an undisclosed injury. The 5-foot-10, 174-pound senior has logged a 26-343-5 receiving line in 10 games this season. In that same space, he has also rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown. Tue, Nov 22, 2016 03:13:00 PM

Ohio State senior OW Dontre Wilson (foot) vowed to be ready to play in the season-opener against Bowling Green.

Wilson was hobbled by a foot sprain last season and ultimately appeared in just four games. He has been waylaid by foot injuries in each of the past two seasons. The 5-foot-10, 174-pounder is hoping that 2016 will be more of a charmed season. "I feel like I needed to show people that I haven’t gone anywhere. They’ve got me here; I’m still going to bring something to the table every game, and that it’s finally time," said Wilson. In his most productive season (2014), he rushed for 100 yards on 18 carries while catching 22 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns over the course of nine games. There is still talent here, albeit talent that has yet to truly surface. Back in October of 2014, ESPN's Todd McShay called Williams a "Percy Harvin-type player."

Eleven Warriors' Patrick Mak reports that Ohio State sophomore OW Dontre Wilson broke his foot in the Buckeye's 49-37 win over Michigan State.

In Urban Meyer's Monday morning press conference, he also confirmed that Wilson broke his foot and will miss substantial time after having surgery on his foot. The Buckeyes prospect could be sidelined until the bowl season.

Ohio State sophomore OW Dontre Wilson "is a versatile, Percy Harvin-type of player," writes ESPN's Todd McShay.

"He's a notch below Harvin in terms of explosiveness; Wilson has great speed and is quick, but isn't quite as sudden in his movements as Harvin," McShay wrote. "The Buckeyes have been working to manufacture touches for Wilson, and it'd be even easier for them to get him the ball if he improved as a route-runner." The popular preseason breakout selection has only 13 runs for 80 yards and 14 receptions for 221 yards and a score in 2014. His lack of touches over the past year-and-a-half has been a little puzzling, frankly. Last year, the dearth was blamed on his skinny frame. This year, apparently it's his route running.

Ohio State sophomore OW Dontre Wilson had six catches for 71 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 50-28 victory over Cincinnati.

He also had a 21-yard run. The popular preseason breakout selection has 59 rushing yards on nine attempts (6.6 YPC) and 11 catches for 179 yards (16.3 YPR) and a touchdown through four games. Wilson, who is often compared to Percy Harvin, finished with just 53 touches in 2013 due to his 185-pound frame, accounting for 250 rushing yards and 210 receiving yards.

Ohio State sophomore OW Dontre Wilson made Travis Haney's Top 50 breakout list for the second consecutive season.

"He's an impact guy for us," Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said. Haney's last prediction didn't work out so well -- as Wilson finished with just 53 touches, accounting for 250 rushing yards and 210 receiving yards in 2013 -- but he isn't fazed. You'll recall that Wilson has been compared to Percy Harvin since before he even stepped foot onto campus. One reason Wilson didn't get onto the field more last year was his lithe 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame. He's bulked up since then. "He's much stronger," Meyer said. "He's much more prepared for this level."

The hype around Ohio State freshman RB Dontre Wilson continues to grow.

Fox Sports Ohio's Zac Jackson tweeted "you should almost always hesitate before buying the hype but with Dontre Wilson, go ahead and buy it." The Columbus Dispatch added that Wilson has shown electric speed during early portions of preseason camp. Carlos Hyde and Jordan Hall are the veteran presence at the position, but watch out for the true freshman in 2013.
