Pittsburgh redshirt senior OLB Todd Thomas has durability concerns, writes TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.
"For two seasons now I’ve graded Todd Thomas as a solid weakside linebacker and potential draftable prospect," Pauline wrote. "He shows good range and ability in space as well as skills in coverage. Thomas, who’s had several knee surgeries, indicated prior to the start of last season he was leaving the Pittsburgh program before reversing course. Both must be looked into." Pittsburgh redshirt junior LB Todd Thomas has decided to leave the football program.

"I had a chance to have some conversations with him the last couple of days, and he told me last night and this morning that he's going to leave the team," head coach Paul Chryst said. "I'm not going to talk about any of our discussions with him, and should something change, then I'll visit that." Thomas has a history of left knee injuries, sustaining one as a true freshman in 2010 and another in 2011. He started seven games at weakside linebacker last season. Shane Gordon is the only starting linebacker to return from last year and will start in the middle.
