Bengals signed Texas A&M S Floyd Raven.
Raven (6'0/202) was a reserve safety and cornerback in four years at College Station, primarily shining on special teams. He flashed the potential to do more at the TAMU Pro Day, running 4.49 with a 10-foot-4 broad jump and pumping 17 reps on the bench. Although Raven had a largely nondescript college career, his speed-athleticism combo makes him an intriguing project as a potential NFL free safety. He'll start out on kickoff and punt coverage. Texas A&M junior S Floyd Raven will miss Saturday's game against Alabama.

Raven missed the season opener due to a suspension and was hurt last week against Sam Houston State. Head coach Kevin Sumlin does expect to have Raven back at some point this season. CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman called Raven a "very physically talented corner," so that will be missed against Alabama.

Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin has suspended starting junior S Floyd Raven for the season opener against Rice.

Raven was involved in the same incident has junior corner teammate Deshazor Everett, however, Raven drew a longer suspension. After seeing action in all 13 games as a sophomore at corner, Raven moved to safety during the offseason and won the starting job. Defensive lineman Kirby Ennis was also suspended for the opener last month, so the Aggies will be down three starters versus the Owls.
