TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline notes that USC senior OL Aundrey Walker could "fall out of the draft entirely."
"Several area scouts have questioned Walker’s passion for football which is disconcerting considering the ability he showed early in his career. Stamped as a middle round prospect entering the season, the more likely scenario has Walker falling out of the draft entirely," Pauline wrote. The USC prospect had a solid sophomore season as a left tackle and then moved to the guard as a junior. In Walker's 2013 season he suffered a serious ankle injury late in the year. Pauline added that Walker has "been slow to recover and has played in only five games this season." Mon, Nov 17, 2014 02:50:00 PM

USC senior OL Aundrey Walker might be losing his starting G spot due to a slow recovery from injury.

Walker is still working back from a fractured ankle which was suffered last November. "He’s not bouncing back the way we hoped," head coach Steve Sarkisian said Sunday. "He still feels pain. Our doctors have cleared him for activity. At some point, he’s going to have to make a decision — ‘I’m either going to push myself and go for it or accept the role I’m in.’ That decision’s going to have to come here pretty soon." The ball looks to be in Walker's court. He is a powerful blocker with plenty of talent. Freshman Toa Lobendahn is currently starting at left guard.

TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline believes USC senior OL Aundrey Walker "took a step back last season."

"I thought Walker took a step back last season after moving from left tackle to guard," Pauline wrote. "Based off his sophomore film of ’12, Walker looked like a potential top 100 pick." The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder missed spring practices while recovering from a broken left ankle suffered against UCLA last season. Scouts like his long arms and position versatility, but hopefully we'll see increased focus this fall.

USC senior OL Aundrey Walker (ankle) is expected to shift back to guard in 2014.

Walker has started at left tackle and right guard over the past two seasons. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder missed spring practices while recovering from a broken left ankle suffered against UCLA last season. "Walker looks the part of an NFL lineman, boasting long arms and a proportionate frame," wrote CBS Sports' Rob Rang. "He is powerful but not particularly nimble."

Three USC Gs, junior Aundrey Walker, redshirt senior John Martinez, and redshirt freshman Jordan Simmons are all not at full strength heading into the season.

Walker was expected to start at tackle for the Trojans, but worked at guard throughout the offseason and was listed as a co-starter on the right side with John Martinez. Jordan Simmons is listed as the third team left guard. USC chooses not to comment on injuries, so no details were released.
