49ers selected LSU CB Rashard Robinson with the No. 133 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Robinson (6'2/171) was suspended indefinitely in November of 2014 and never earned reinstatement, missing the entire 2015 season. He finished his career with one interception in eight starts. Plenty talented, Robinson failed at LSU due to maturity issues and a lack of weight-room commitment. He's entirely too thin and managed five bench-press reps at the Tigers' Pro Day. Robinson isn't yet 21 years old and looks like Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie getting off the bus, but he's going to have to make lifestyle changes to last in the NFL. Sat, Apr 30, 2016 01:55:00 PM

NFL Network's Rand Getlin hears that LSU CB Rashard Robinson's visit to the Giants over the weekend "went really well."

In a gargantuan seven-round mock draft released by CBS Sports' Dane Brugler on Monday, he projected the Seahawks to select Robinson with pick No. 97, in the third round. You shouldn't gamble your life savings on that (Rule: Do not gamble any amount of savings on mock drafts), but don't be surprised if Robinson ends up a Day 2 selection. Robinson has not played college ball since 2013, as LSU knocked him with an indefinite suspension in 2014 and reinstatement never materialized, but he is a dynamic athlete and ran the 40-yard dash in the low-to-mid 4.4's during his Pro Day.

LSU CB Rashard Robinson met with the Denver Broncos on Sunday night.

Robinson ran forties between 4.42 and 4.45 at Monday's pro day, an improvement from his performance at the Combine. TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reported that Robinson, whose Combine tests underwhelmed, became sick while in Indianapolis, either the explanation or a convenient excuse. Either way, 21 teams attended, including, per Pauline, "a combination of secondary coaches, defensive coordinators and even [a] few head coaches [came to] Baton Rouge primarily to watch Robinson, who is all over draft boards."

CBS Sports draft analyst Dane Brugler wrote that "[o]bviously], [LSU CB Rashard Robinson's] interviews will be the most important aspect of his Combine experience."

Robinson's been chirping up a storm about how he plans on running the fastest 40 at the NFL Scouting Combine. That in and of itself would be fun for the 6-foot-1, 163-pound corner, but he'll need to likewise step up when he sits down for interviews with interested teams. Robinson was hit with an indefinite suspension after violating team rules in 2014 and was never reinstated. He's publicly addressed this to some degree, admitting that he was "selfish" and "too complacent" when he first came to college. More of that kind of honesty could help his cause as much as a fast straight-line time.

LSU CB Rashard Robinson said that he's hoping to record "the fastest 40 at the Combine."

Robinson was suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team rules in 2014 and he was never reinstated to the team. The 6-foot-1, 163-pound corner will need to address the root of his issues with LSU when interviewing with NFL teams, but he's at least saying the right things, calling himself "too complacent" and "selfish" when he first joined the Tigers. Despite the obvious issues here, teams are already sniffing around. Because Robinson's uber-talented. CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes that without the off-field concerns, he would be in the conversation as a possible Top-50 pick this spring. As is, the analyst sees him being selected in the second or third round.

LSU CB Rashard Robinson is "drawing a lot of interest and intrigue from teams," reports TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

If you haven't heard of him, don't fret. Robinson hasn't played football since his freshman year in 2013. He was booted off the team and never got back in Les Miles' good graces. "Personnel people from the Oakland Raiders and New York Giants believe Robinson would’ve competed for the top cornerback spot in this year’s draft had he played the past two seasons and built upon his impressive freshman campaign," Pauline wrote. "I’m told he will measure over 6-feet/2-inches and is expected to run the forty in the 4.3’s at the combine. I’ve also been told Robinson has been invited to participate at LSU’s pro-day. As someone told me earlier today teams are willing to roll the dice on tall corners that can run fast as the demand far outstrips the supply. The point being Robinson could be selected much earlier than people project."

Former LSU junior CB Rashard Robinson declared for the 2016 NFL Draft.

"After much prayer thought & consideration over the past months and deliberation with my family I have decided to declare for the 2016 NFL Draft," Robinson posted on Facebook. We're extremely interested to see how Robinson's situation plays out. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound cornerback hasn't played since 2013, when he was a freshman. That year, he played in 12 games, holding Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans to four catches and 51 yards in his first career start. Robinson was suspended indefinitely in 2014 after violating team rules and was unable to gain reinstatement by head coach Les Miles prior to this season. It's a bit surprising that he didn't transfer to get back on the field, but the skill and length are both NFL caliber.

According to LSU HC Les Miles, freshman CB Rashard Robinson wouldn't play "in the short term."

Robinson was suspended after violating team rules. The suspension was announced just prior to the team's game with Alabama. The freshman had started the previous six games for the Tigers. "There's a responsibility he has to this team that has been forgone," said Miles. A four-star recruit, Robinson exits into his indefinite suspension with 17 tackles and one pass breakup.

LSU freshman CB Rashard Robinson has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules.

He had started the previous six games while sharing time with Jalen Collins. Robinson's eligibility was delayed last year after working through the NCAA, but despite the late start he was able to contribute on the field.

True freshman CB Rashard Robinson has been cleared to play for LSU.

Robinson has made it through the NCAA Eligibility Center (formerly Clearinghouse) and can now report to campus, according to beat writer Michael Bonnette. The freshman doesn't have college size at the moment, tipping the scales at just over 160 pounds, but he'll have time to develop. We think he might redshirt the season.
