Texans signed Michigan State LB Max Bullough.
Bullough (6-foot-3 1/2, 249) was a third-team All-American as a senior, manning Mike 'backer in the Spartans' stingy defense. He logged 40 starts, 30.5 career tackles for loss, three interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Although Bullough has smarts (31 Wonderlic) and adequate straight-line speed (4.78 forty), he is tight-hipped and not an explosive mover (9-foot-4 broad jump). A coverage liability, he would have to be "protected" by scheme to handle meaningful defensive snaps. Ultimately, Bullough will likely be limited to a special teams role with the Texans. Michigan State senior LB Max Bullough will attend the East-West Shrine Game.

Bullough's season ended on a low note, as he was suspended for the school's bowl game against Stanford. The longtime starter could be one of the best linebackers at the event and projects to an inside alignment.

Michigan State senior LB Max Bullough has been suspended for the school's bowl game against Stanford on January 1.

Bullough was in violation of team rules and will be held out of his final collegiate game. Many consider him the anchor of the Spartan's defense, working behind an upgraded defensive line and next to fellow senior Denicos Allen. Corner Darqueze Dennard is the best prospect in their back seven. Expect a heavy dose of ground and pound from the Cardinal.

Michigan State senior LB Max Bullough collected nine tackles in Friday's 26-13 victory against Western Michigan.

Two-and-a-half of those tackles went for a loss. Embarking upon his third season as a Spartan starter, Bullough was featured on the preseason watch lists for the Bednarik (defensive player of the year), Butkus (nation's best linebacker) and Lombardi (nation's best lineman) Awards. Bullough entered this season with 223 career tackles in 40 games (27 consecutive starts).
