Colts signed Central Michigan RB Zurlon Tipton.
Tipton ranked as NFL.com writer Gil Brandt's 11th-best undrafted RB. At 5-foot-11 3/4 and 223 pounds, Tipton has prototypical NFL size. He also runs hard and adamant, blasting into the hole with confidence and power. He was productive in college and possesses reliable hands. Tipton runs high, however, and is not elusive nor a burner. Although he has some tools, he may be done in by his limited special teams experience. May 13 - 10:03 PM

Central Michigan senior RB Zurlon Tipton returned to the field last night and rushed for eight yards on five carries.

Tipton suffered a broken ankle in early September and was expected to miss the entire season. The speedy recovery is a good sign, but Tipton, and the entire Chippewa offense, could not get much going last night. We like Tipton as a possible sixth- or seventh-round selection, but he has an extensive injury history.

Central Michigan senior RB Zurlon Tipton will miss the remainder of the season due to a broken ankle.

"We’ve got to pick it up and move on," CMU coach Dan Enos said. "Obviously, it’s not the way any of us wanted to play." Tipton might have been primed for a big season and a possible draft selection this May, but this won't help clear his long injury history. The Chips also lost quarterback Cody Kater for an extended period of time due to an injury suffered in last week's loss. Saylor Lavallii will likely start at running back.
