Sports on Earth's Matt Brown says Minnesota has one of the best cornerback combinations in the nation.
Between Eric Murray and Briean Boddy-Calhoun -- whom Brown ranks as the No. 17 and 16 defensive backs in the country, respectively -- the Gophers are going to be exceedingly difficult to throw on this year. "Murray is a 6-foot, 196-pound senior who had seven pass breakups and 69 tackles last year, showing off a physical, aggressive style," Brown wrote. "Boddy-Calhoun is a 5-foot-11, 188-pound senior who transferred from the juco ranks in 2012. They're cornerstones of a defense that allowed 6.2 yards per pass attempt in 2014." Boddy-Calhoun posted five interceptions, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles and 51 tackles last year. Jun 28 - 5:20 PM

Big Ten Network's Sean Merriman ranks Minnesota redshirt senior CB Briean Boddy-Calhoun as the conference's No. 23 draft prospect.

"What a talent," wrote Merriman. The former JUCO product broke out in 2014, collecting 51 tackles and picking off five passes, tying for third all-time in school history. If he improves upon that, the long corner could move into the middle rounds.

Minnesota junior CB Briean Boddy-Calhoun will miss the remainder of the season.

The former JUCO product made three tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown against UNLV. Boddy-Calhoun had been a reserve defensive back for much of his career, but was poised for a bigger role this season. He will have at least one season of eligibility remaining.
