Virginia Tech senior DT Corey Marshall said that the Hokies "executed to a lethal level" against Ohio State last season.
"We executed to a lethal level and it showed on the scoreboard," said Marshall, of the 35-21 victory. No other team held the Buckeyes to fewer than 31 points last season. The Hokies picked off J.T. Barrett three times in that contest, while almost completely eliminating the Ohio State running game--Ezekiel Elliott had just eight carries for 32 yards, with 15 of those yards coming on one carry. This is all candy and gumdrops for Virginia Tech, but we would caution the Hokies not to ramp up the trash talk. Tue, Sep 1, 2015 07:17:00 PM

Virginia Tech senior DT Corey Marshall boasts an intriguing combination of "hustle, quick feet, and strong hands," writes NFL Media draft analyst Chad Reuter.

"Marshall redshirted in 2013 after taking time away from the team for personal teams early in the year -- and opponents wished he would have stayed away for the 2014 season as well," Reuter wrote. Marshall (6-foot-2, 262 pounds) had 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 2014. "The second-team All-ACC pick (league coaches) has marginal size right now, but should be able to add weight to play five-technique/third-down nose to challenge offensive linemen," Reuter wrote.

Virginia Tech junior DT Corey Marshall has rejoined the football program after leaving the team for three weeks.

Head coach Frank Beamer is confident that Marshall will be on the field this season after taking care of some "personal matters." Whether that is at defensive end or defensive tackle remains to be seen, but Marshall's build fits the former.
