Former Tennessee DL Mo Couch has been invited to the Senior Bowl.
Couch was ruled ineligible for much of the season after Yahoo! Sports' reported he received improper benefits. We aren't sure if Couch's talent matches the caliber usually found at the Senior Bowl, but this is a nice gesture for a prospect that missed much of his season. Head coach Butch Jones also said Couch is welcome to participate in the school's pro day. Tue, Dec 3, 2013 12:23:00 PM

The NCAA ruled Tennessee redshirt senior DL Mo Couch permanently ineligible following a September Yahoo! Sports report that he received improper benefits.

The Volunteers will appeal the decision. Couch hasn't played since the story was published on September 11. In addition to Couch, former Alabama offensive tackle D.J. Fluker, former Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray, former Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and former Mississippi State receiver Chad Bumphis were all alleged to have received payments from Luther Davis, a middle man between collegiate players and agents.

Tennessee redshirt senior DL Mo Couch, who was implicated in Yahoo Sports' recent piece regarding five SEC players who received improper benefits, will miss Saturday's game against Oregon due to heat exhaustion.

Quite the coincidence. Couch is the only name involved in the Yahoo Sports' report that is still playing at the college level. The redshirt senior plays a reserve role for the Vols, but did start 13 of the 26 games he played in since 2011. He registered four tackles, two going for a loss (including one sack), in two games this season.
