Cardinals signed Texas A&M WR Ricky Seals-Jones.
Seals-Jones (6’5/243) disappointed as a near-consensus five-star recruit to TAMU, managing a career 123-1,442-10 (11.7 YPR) receiving line with only 26 catches in 11 games as a redshirt junior last year. Seals-Jones’ game tape reveals a player who does not separate and drops far too many passes, in addition to struggling in contested-catch situations despite his tight end-like size. Seals-Jones all but sealed his fate with a 4.69 forty and a putrid 28-inch vertical at the Combine. Seals-Jones will likely have to convert to tight end full time and learn to run down kickoffs to become any sort of NFL factor. May 1 - 2:21 PM

An SEC DB coach said that Texas A&M WR Ricky Seals-Jones "[l]ooks great in that uniform but he can't get open."

"Usually you fear guys with that kind of size when they make it down near your end zone but he never competed hard enough down there when we played him," said the defensive backs coach of the 6-foot-5, 243-pound Seals-Jones. The wideout failed to cross the 600-yard receiving mark for a season during his time with the Aggies. For the past campaign, Seals-Jones caught 26 passes for 333 yards and a score. NFL Media's Lance Zierlein writes that "many teams see him as a tight end who may have to add weight and prove he can get after people as an in-line blocker to make an NFL roster."

Texas A&M redshirt junior WR Ricky Seals-Jones will forego his final season of collegiate eligibility to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

Seals-Jones finished out his Aggies career with a 6-34-1 line in Wednesday's bowl loss to Kansas State. For the 2016 season as a whole, the 6-foot-5, 230-pound redshirt junior caught 26 passes for 333 yards and a touchdown. He did not surpass 600 yards receiving in any one season at Texas A&M. While the statistical output has been lacking, Seals-Jones has prototypical NFL size and NFL Media's Bucky Broks wrote at the end of September that the wideout possesses "the kind of size and athleticism to terrorize opponents in the red zone." This is an opinion that has been echoed by multiple analysts over the course of Seals-Jones' career.

In a Q&A with AL.com's Michael Casagrande, The Dallas Morning News' Ben Baby said that he "expect[s]" Texas A&M redshirt junior WR Ricky Seals-Jones (leg) to play in Saturday's monster showdown with Alabama.

Seals-Jones has sat out each of Texas A&M's last two games due to a leg injury sustained against Arkansas near the end of September. In three-plus contests prior to going out injured vs. the Razorbacks, the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder had caught 10 passes for 175 yards.

Texas A&M redshirt junior WR Ricky Seals-Jones exited Saturday's game against Arkansas in the first half with an injured left leg.

Seals-Jones spent the second half in street clothes. Aggies HC Kevin Sumlin declined to address Seals-Jones' status afterwards, so we'll have to wait a few days to update you on his prognosis. Expected to be favored in the next two weeks, the Aggies could be 6-0 when they take on top-ranked Alabama on Oct. 22.

NFL.com's Bucky Brooks believes Texas A&M redshirt junior WR Ricky Seals-Jones bloodlines to Pro Football Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, his cousin, will help his case with NFL evaluators.

"Whenever a player has bloodlines to a Pro Football Hall of Famer, he's certain to draw interest from NFL scouts hoping to find a player with the skills to excel in the 'family business,'" Brooks wrote. "The former high school basketball standout has developed into a playmaker with the kind of size and athleticism to terrorize opponents in the red zone." The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Seals-Jones has only 10 catches for 175 yards amid a stacked receiving depth chart this year. "Seals-Jones has flashed the strength and running skills to excel on 'catch-and-run' concepts inside the numbers," Brooks wrote. "The NFL is always searching for mismatch creators in the passing game."

ESPN's Todd McShay noted that Texas A&M redshirt junior WR Ricky Seals-Jones "causes all kinds of mismatch problems, particularly in the red zone."

McShay is gaga over Seals-Jones' 6-foot-5, 240-pound frame, noting that "[h]is big-strong hands swallow the ball, and his length/leaping ability give him a wide catch radius." The analyst went on to write that Seals-Jones is "shifty and agile enough to create yards in the open field [despite the lack of a true top gear]." Playing in a stacked receiving corps, the wideout caught 45 passes for 560 yards and four touchdowns last season. McShay ranks him as the No. 2 draft-eligible wide receiver in the country, just behind USC's JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore WR Ricky Seals-Jones caught six passes for 88 yards in the school's 35-28 win over South Carolina.

It was one of Seals-Jones' best games of his career, and he flashed using his size to win at the catch point. Seals-Jones and Christian Krik are listed at the same position, but they could not be more different.

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore WR Ricky Seals-Jones' "play this season has been nothing short of disappointing," writes TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

The analyst graded Seals-Jones as a potential second-rounder over the summer but has backed off that stance. "Against Mississippi, a secondary which had a decided size disadvantage trying to cover Seals-Jones, he posted just three receptions," Pauline wrote. That line more or less fell in line with Seals-Jones' week-to-week production (excluding the Alabama game). The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Seals-Jones has only 24 receptions on the year. It would be best that he return for another season to rehabilitate his stock.

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore WR Ricky Seals-Jones had six catches for 107 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 41-23 loss to Alabama.

It's almost unthinkable that we're three years into this five star recruit's career and today's 6-107-1 line is easily the best game of his career. But here we are. When he's on and Kyle Allen is looking his way -- like today, in other words -- Seals-Jones is a tight end-lite matchup nightmare for corners at 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. We'd advise him to return to school and work towards the first round a year from now.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline advises Texas A&M underclassmen WRs Ricky Seals-Jones and Josh Reynolds to return to school.

The pair entered the year with Day 2 grades but have totaled only 33 receptions, 511 receiving yards and four scores combined. By way of comparison, true freshman stud Christian Kirk is at 32-519-4 by himself. "Both Seals-Jones and Reynolds will have decisions to make at the conclusion of the season as to whether or not they enter the draft," Pauline wrote. "Right now it would be a mistake to make the jump and if they have NFL aspirations for 2016 they must quickly turn it around."

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore WR Ricky Seals-Jones had three catches for 54 yards in Saturday's win against Ball State.

Since the Aggies won by 33 points, starters spent most of the second half watching from the sidelines. "Seals-Jones is a first rounder in the making," wrote TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline earlier this month. "Seals-Jones has Calvin Johnson type size and dominates opponents. He still need to polish his game but the arrow is pointing north."

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore WR Ricky Seals-Jones had six catches for 29 yards in Saturday's win against Arizona State.

With Christian Kirk and Josh Reynolds (and to a lesser extent Speedy Noil) providing dangerous outside weapons, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Seals-Jones was used as more of a possession target in this one. That's not all he is, though. "Seals-Jones is a first rounder in the making," wrote TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline last week. "Seals-Jones has Calvin Johnson type size and dominates opponents. He still need to polish his game but the arrow is pointing north."

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore WR Ricky Seals-Jones "is a mismatch nightmare for most college defensive backs," CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes.

"Seals-Jones is a mismatch nightmare for most college defensive backs, even in the SEC, because of his height, length and leaping ability, creating a large catching radius for the quarterback. While still raw, all the talent is there for him to develop into a blue-chip NFL prospect," Brugler wrote. The Texas A & M prospect hauled in 49 catches for 465 yards and four touchdowns in his first season. Upon arriving to Texas A & M, Seals-Jones was one of the highest rated prospects in the nation. Perhaps this season, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Seals-Jones lives up to his potential.

Texas A&M redshirt sophomore WR Ricky Seals-Jones possesses "the ability to develop into a first rounder," believes TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

At the moment, Pauline grades him as a second-rounder. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Seals-Jones is one of the most talented receivers in the country, but the five-star recruit's career to this point has been hampered by injuries. Last year, in an appetizer of sorts, he put up 49 catches for 465 yards and four touchdowns. He could more than double those numbers if he doesn't get hurt this fall.
