Jets selected Maryland CB Dexter McDougle with the No. 80 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
McDougle (5-foot-9 3/4, 196) lasted only three games as a senior before a year-ending shoulder injury, which should be healed by camp. He finished college with 27 starts and six interceptions. McDougle ran 4.47 at the Terrapins' Pro Day, adding a 37-inch vertical and 10-foot-2 broad jump. A quick-twitch mover with a physical playing style but short arms (30 5/8") and sub-optimal height, McDougle's size limitations may force him to slot corner in the pros. He does offer upside to develop into a quality nickel back. McDougle will likely be limited mostly to special teams as a rookie. May 9 - 10:24 PM

Maryland CB Dexter McDougle met with the Raiders this week.

McDougle (5-foot-10 1/4, 196 pounds) worked out for representatives from 24 NFL teams at Maryland's pro day on April 8. The corner ran forties in 4.53, 4.47 and 4.51 seconds. He added a short shuttle of 4.18 seconds and a three-cone drill of 6.84 seconds. As with the combine, a shoulder injury prevented McDougle from doing the bench, but that won't affect his stock any. NFL.com's Gil Brandt calls the Terrapin "a probable third-round draft choice."

Maryland senior CB Dexter McDougle will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

McDougle suffered the injury during Saturday's game against UConn. The senior recorded two interceptions in the contest before tackling an opposing player low and injuring his own shoulder. "Dexter was playing as good as he's played since I've been here," said head coach Randy Edsall.
