CBS Sports' Derek Stephens believes Florida State senior S Tyler Hunter is a potential "high-round" pick.
Hunter missed the final 11 games last season due to a neck injury, but he's apparently made a full recovery in time for the 2014 campaign. "An explosive, quick athlete with the versatility to line up at multiple spots in the defensive backfield, Hunter is also a big-play threat as a punt returner and if able to stay healthy in 2014, could draw high-round interest come draft day," Stephens wrote. Date:

Florida State senior S Tyler Hunter will miss the remainder of the season with a neck injury.

He underwent surgery to repair a bulging disc in his neck. The injury occurred last month in a blowout win over Bethune-Cookman. Hunter played nickel back last season, but moved into a full-time starting role at safety this offseason. Freshman Jalen Ramsey has filled in for Hunter the past two games and will continue to do so.

Florida State senior S Tyler Hunter is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Boston College with a neck injury.

Hunter left last weekend's contest against Bethune-Cookman with a neck contusion. "He's in the game plan," head coach Jimbo Fisher said. "He may be able to play, he may not. I don't have an answer, they're going to get other people involved." Sophomore Keelin Smith could be the next man up, but Fisher mentioned freshman corner Jalen Ramsey as another possibility if Hunter cannot play.
