ESPN's Todd McShay called Florida State S Terrence Brooks one of the steals of Round 3.
Baltimore grabbed the Seminoles' ballhawk with the No. 79 overall pick in the draft. Brooks "could develop into an every-down starter for Baltimore given his physicality near the line and range in coverage," wrote McShay. "He's always around the football." Brooks (5-foot-11, 198 pounds with 4.42 speed) fills a major Baltimore need. He'll be an NFL starter at some point, perhaps as soon as this coming season. May 11 - 4:14 PM

Ravens selected Florida State S Terrence Brooks with the No. 79 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

A center fielder, Brooks fills one of the Ravens' biggest needs. Brooks (5-foot-11, 198) was voted first-team All-ACC by the conference's coaches as a senior, bookending more ballyhooed secondary mate Lamarcus Joyner as the national champion Seminoles' free safety. Although Brooks is a somewhat deficient tackler, he has center-field range with plus speed (4.42) and athleticism (38-inch vertical). He has starting potential down the road.

Florida State DB Terrence Brooks has been invited to the Senior Bowl.

Brooks has emerged this season, and is a veteran presence in the defensive backfield with Lamarcus Joyner. There is a chance that Brooks works himself into a second day selection. The safety class is not nearly as deep as last year's crop.
