West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen announced on Tuesday that junior CB Travis Bell has retired.
"We wish him well," the coach said. Media reports of this story stress that Bell himself made the decision, but nobody has been able to ascertain whether Bell is retiring from WVU football, or the sport altogether. Bell started nine of the 12 games he appeared in last year, but was arrested and charged twice in a 10-month span last year. That was the beginning of the end of his Mountaineers career. West Virginia junior CB Travis Bell faces DUI charges after being arrested Sunday morning following an incident involving his girlfriend.

Bell, who started nine games this season, was also arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in February. "His status with the WVU football team is uncertain," reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Bell, 22, failed field sobriety tests after an argument with his girlfriend in Morgantown at around 3 a.m. on Sunday.
