Recent News reports that LSU HC Les Miles "hinted Wednesday that the Tigers' plan at the position may not change much this week," leaving LSU sophomore Anthony Jennings as the Tiger's starter.
The 6-foot-2, 211-pound Jennings, has started all four games for LSU this season, throwing for 723 yards and five touchdowns, while completing 51 percent of his passes and throwing one interception. Miles had mentioned that freshman Brandon Harris could get more playing time moving forward. Harris has thrown for 216 yards with three touchdowns and one interception, and has completed 68 percent of his passes this season. While Miles is leaning more towards Jennings, he believes Jennings "is a guy that's recognizing that he needs to improve." Wed, Sep 24, 2014 02:29:00 PM

LSU sophomore Anthony Jennings will start at QB in the season opener, according to beat writer Jim Kleinpeter.

Kleinpeter's source told him Jennings "edged out" freshman Brandon Harris for the starting gig thanks to a strong week of practice. Jennings started one game last season after Zach Mettenberger went down with an injury and certainly did not embarrass himself. The Tigers' offense will look totally different from a personnel perspective, however.

LSU sophomore QB Anthony Jennings and freshman QB Brandon Harris will both see snaps against Wisconsin.

The news comes directly from head coach Les Miles. Jennings stepped in for an injured Zach Mettenberger last year and did an admirable job. However, we believe LSU's offense last year was a perfect situation thanks to a strong offensive line, excellent receivers and solid running game. It could be more difficult for Jennings and Harris to produce consistency this season. We wonder if the two-quarterback system continues as the season goes alone.

LSU HC Les Miles said he is in no hurry to name a starting QB.

Sophomore Anthony Jennings took over for injured starter Zach Mettenberger during the final part of the 2013, but he is not locked in for the same gig this year. His top competition might be freshman Brandon Harris. This could be drawn out until LSU kicks off against Wisconsin on August 30.

LSU redshirt sophomore Anthony Jennings ranks No. 10 on Bucky Brooks' Quarterback Tracker, above more established prospects like Braxton Miller (Ohio State), Devin Gardner (Michigan), and Taylor Kelly (Arizona State).

"Jennings' inclusion on this list is a little premature based on his limited playing time, but I'm willing to take a chance on an exceptional talent who has shown flashes of brilliance in brief action," Brooks wrote. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Jennings has a big arm and is "a dynamic athletic [sic] with the speed and quickness to create chaos on the edges." Jennings looks to pass first, but Brooks believes he'll be a multi-threat nightmare. "Cam Cameron's experience coaching Antwaan Randle El at Indiana could help him transform Jennings into one of the most feared playmakers in the SEC," he wrote.

LSU redshirt freshman Anthony Jennings will start at QB in the school's bowl game.

Jennings was the hero of last weekend's game against Arkansas, engineering a 99-yard game winning drive that ended with a 49-yard touchdown throw. He doesn;t have a lot of experience but certainly showed plenty of promise after entering the game following Zach Mettenberger's knee injury.
