According to reports from multiple outlets, Florida Atlantic has fired HC Charlie Partridge.
The Owls, drilled 77-56 by Middle Tennessee on Saturday, finished 3-9 in all three of Partridge's seasons. Partridge’s winning percentage of .250 is the worst in FAU history. The school owes Partridge a tad more than $1 million for the two years left on his original five-year pact. Partridge did well in recruiting, so the right successor could find quick success. UMass-Old Dominion will now kick off on Friday, while FAU-Charlotte will offer a little spell from the NFL with a Sunday kick. Tulane and UCF saw the most drastic scheduling change here. Not only will they no longer face off on Saturday, they won't be facing off this month, at all. That contest has been rescheduled for November 5.

Florida Atlantic announced Gary Partridge as head coach.

The Owls dismissed former coach Carl Pelini in October. A press conference to announce the news of Partridge's hiring is scheduled for Tuesday. Partridge, who has never been a head coach, was Arkansas' defensive coordinator in 2013. Arkansas State, Army, Bowling Green and Texas still have head coaching vacancies in the FBS.
