Mitchell wanted to move closer to his Plano, Texas home to be near his ailing father. The former five-star recruit was forced to redshirt during his only season in Columbus due to injury. Many believe Mitchell will win an appeal for a hardship waiver that would allow him to play for the Red Raiders in 2014, a huge coup for coach Kliff Kingsbury. Texas A&M and Baylor also went after the No. 3 outside linebacker in the country in 2012.
