USC offensive linemen Toa Lobendahn, Austin Jackson and Chuma Edoga started Saturday's game at Stanford despite all three considered to be at less than full strength earlier in the week.
All three are starters, with Lobendahn (pectoral) handling the center duties, Jackson (knee tendinitis) at left tackle and Edoga (hip) at right tackle. What makes their presence of even greater importance to the Trojans is the fact that USC starts a true freshman in JT Daniels at quarterback. Sat, Sep 8, 2018 08:56:00 PM

Three USC starting lineman were limited or did not participate in practice on Friday before Saturday's game against Stanford.

Yikes. The lineman are C Toa Lobendahn (pectoral), LT Austin Jackson (knee tendinitis) and RT Chuma Edoga (hip). Clay Helton was hopeful that all three would play in the key matchup, but it's not looking good that they were unable to practice in full -- or practice at all -- just one day before the game. If they miss the game, all USC skill position players need to have lowered expectations, especially with a true freshman QB -- who could still be in high school -- playing in his first road game against a top-ten team.

USC redshirt senior C Toa Lobendahn (pectoral) missed practice again on Thursday.

It's the second straight missed practice for the center, considered one of -- if not the -- best lineman on the USC roster. If Lobendahn can't play, redshirt freshman Brett Neilon is expected to start at center.

USC redshirt senior C Toa Lobendahn (pectoral) is questionable against UNLV on Saturday.

When Clay Helton was asked if Lobendahn would be available, Helton responded, "We'll see." ESPN's Edward Aschoff called the versatile lineman the most underrated player on the Trojans, so it would be a big loss if he is unable to suit up. If Lobendahn can't, Brett Neilon will fill in.

ESPN's Edward Aschoff lists USC redshirt senior C Toa Lobendahn as the most underrated player on the Trojans.

Lobendahn (6'3/280) has played all over the field for USC, but is moving back to his most natural position of center for the 2018 campaign. He's been plagued by injuries, but when healthy, his presence on the line has helped the Trojan offense significantly. As Aschoff puts it: "There's no question that USC's offensive line was a major weak spot in 2017. Now, Toa Lobendahn returns as arguably the most important player up front."

USC redshirt junior T Toa Lobendahn will return to school for the 2018 season.

Lobendahn (6'3/280) started at left tackle for the Trojans this season. He's versatile along the line, but his natural position is center. The redshirt junior is expected to be able to move there for the 2018 season, as Nico Falah will be moving on due to graduation, opening up the whole for Lobendahn.

USC redshirt junior T Toa Lobendahn (knee) is expected to be able to play in Saturday's game against Colorado.

Lobendahn (6'3/280) exited stage left against Arizona last Saturday due to knee pain, but he was able to practice to a limited degree on Thursday and should be able to take the field on Saturday barring a setback. He's battled several injury concerns this season.

USC redshirt junior T Toa Lobendahn left Saturday's win over Arizona early because of knee pain.

Trojans HC Clay Helton said Sunday that there are no plans to undergo an MRI because Lobendahn’s knee was "structurally stable." Lobendahn, a fourth-year junior, had season-ending knee surgeries in each of the past two campaigns.

USC redshirt junior T Toa Lobendahn (pectoral) did not practice on Wednesday.

Lobendahn (6'3/280) has missed one game this season due to a staph infection. He's dealing with a pectoral injury, now, with his status for Saturday's game against Notre Dame still up in the air. He regularly acts as USC's starting left tackle. If Lobendahn can't play this weekend, expect Andrew Vorhees and Austin Jackson to see increased work in the rotation on the line.

USC redshirt junior T Toa Lobendahn (staph infection) is expected to play in Saturday's game against Oregon State.

Lobendahn (6'3/280) did not travel with the Trojans for their loss to Washington State last Friday. A four-game starter at left tackle prior to missing that game, he will return to his regular duties on the line versus the Beavers barring a late setback.

USC redshirt junior T Toa Lobendahn will miss Friday's game against Washington State with a staph infection.

Lobendahn (6'3/280) practiced during the week, but did not make the trip with the Trojans to Pullman. Prior to coming down with the staph infection, he had started all four of USC's games at left tackle. Andrew Vorhees and Austin Jackson are the two likeliest candidates to see extended playing time in his place on Friday.

USC redshirt junior OL Toa Lobendahn (knee) is expected to be back for fall camp.

Lobendahn missed spring practices, still rehabbing the serious knee injury he suffered in the 2016 opener against Alabama. Lobendahn should be close to 100-percent by August, and he will likely be back in the starting lineup at one of the guard spots. The versatile Lobendahn has started multiple games at every position on the line except RT.

USC junior C Toa Lobendahn will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL and MCL sustained against Alabama.

Lobendahn apparently injured his knee in the second series in the monumental loss to Alabama, but remained in the game. Head coach Clay Helton previously said Lobendahn was 50-50 to play against Utah State, but now the center underwent surgery and is out. The center has a history of knee injuries. Nico Falah will likely step into the starting lineup.

USC HC Clay Helton said that junior C Toa Lobendahn (knee) is "50/50" to play against Utah State on Saturday.

Lobendahn injured his right knee in Saturday's embarrassing loss to Alabama and has not practiced this week. On Tuesday, the 6-foot-3, 280-pounder had the knee drained. He subsequently underwent an MRI on Wednesday. This is not his first brush with knee ailments. He underwent a surgical procedure on his right knee in high school, for one, and he was also sidelined for the 2015 season after tearing his left ACL in late October. Should he be unable to suit up against Utah State on Saturday, Nico Falah is the likely man to replace him along the offensive line. Falah has been taking first-team reps this week.

USC sophomore C Toa Lobendahn will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury.

Lobendahn shifted over to center in the starting lineup once senior Max Tuerk went down with an injury. Lobendahn suffered the injury during Saturday's game against Utah. Redshirt sophomore Khaliel Rodgers will replace Lobendahn. The injury was to the sophomore's left knee.
