High school DL Terry Beckner Jr., the No. 2 player in the ESPN 300, committed to Missouri.

As expected.'s RecruitingNation compares the 6-foot-4, 298-pound Beckner to Marcell Dareus of the Buffalo Bills. "Much like the former standout Alabama defender, Beckner brings a combination of size, power and athleticism that can allow him to be a versatile and at times dominating player in the trenches at the college level," wrote Craig Haubert and Jeremy Crabtree. "Big, powerful and versatile, Beckner can fit well in either a base 4-3 or 3-4 scheme and effectively play the 5- or 3-technique as well as nose guard. An explosive and talented big man with a lunch pail-type demeanor, he has the raw tools to come in and contribute early, but he also still possesses promising upside that can allow him to develop into an impact-type player in the trenches at the college level."
Wed, Feb 4, 2015 05:38:00 PM's RecruitingNation predicts No. 2 overall recruit DE Terry Beckner Jr. will choose Missouri.

"Beckner fell in love with Florida State on his visit," the site wrote. "Beckner loved what he saw at Auburn and Ohio State, but nothing could match the excitement he saw while he was on his official visit last weekend to Missouri. Missouri's famed student section The Antlers wore No. 79 jerseys in honor of him and they chanted 'Terry Beckner DLINE-ZOU' as Beckner walked into Mizzou Arena with coach Gary Pinkel for a basketball game. It's that type of love, plus a longstanding relationship with East St. Louis High School, that makes Missouri the team to beat." The 6-foot-4, 298-pound Beckner would likely continue Missouri's recent trend of shipping defensive lineman to the NFL. "Beckner is a big, fast and athletic presence off the edge," reads his scouting report. "He plays with high intensity at the end position which results in plenty of disruptive plays. A big man with good upside on the line."
