Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl.
A junior in the Senior Bowl, you say? The game will accept fourth-year juniors, and that's what Stidham is. He declared for the draft on Tuesday, and the 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback will get a chance to show off his skill set against tough competition in Mobile in January. It's a great decision, as Stidham struggled for most of 2018, although a lot of that could be due to a lack of competent players around him. This will be a chance to show off the talent that made him a potential first-round pick coming into 2018. Dec 5 - 4:11 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Multiple reports surfaced to this effect on Tuesday morning, with Stidham confirming his intentions via a Twitter announcement several hours later. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder's stock has taken a significant hit this season after he opted to return to Auburn for 2018, with Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline writing that while he viewed Stidham as a candidate to push toward the first round prior to the start of the campaign, he no longer sees that as a possibility. The analyst is not completely out on Stidham, though, believing that the signal-caller "will be a solid second-day choice and has starting potential at the next level if properly developed." We're going to need to see a lot from him during the evaluating phase to feel comfortable with even a Day 2 selection.
Dec 4 - 6:25 PM

AL.com's Matt Zenitz reports that Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham intends to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Stidham seriously considered a draft declaration last winter, but opted to return to Auburn for another year. That decision may well have been a mistake, as Stidham and the Tigers floundered through a 7-5 season upon his return, with the quarterback posting significant statistical steps back almost across the board, showing issues with accuracy (60.1% completions) while throwing for a career-low 7.0 YPA (this a year after hitting at 8.5 per attempt). Just how much the NFL will hold all this against Stid the Kid remains to be seen. One pro scout told The Athletic's Dane Brugler near the end of November that Auburn's offense had been holding Stidham back. We're going to be interested to see how his evaluation plays out. The Auburn signal-caller figures to be in the Day 2/Day 3 mix come the spring. He will reportedly play in the Music City Bowl against Purdue on Dec. 28 before he begins his professional journey.

An NFL scout told The Athletic's Dane Brugler that the Auburn offense is holding redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham back.

"Pretty sure he’s long gone ... and it’s for the best," the scout said. "That offense ain’t doing him any favors. Senior Bowl week will be huge for him. Make-or-break type of week." Stidham has really struggled this year, but his weapons leave a lot to be desired, and he showed big-time promise during the 2017 season. Assuming he does play well in an event like the Senior Bowl, he'll have a chance to be one of the first quarterbacks off the board.
Nov 28 - 5:24 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 13-of-30 passes for 127 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Saturday's 52-21 loss to Alabama.

The Tigers did run into a few big plays to kind of sort of vaguely hang around in the Iron Bowl -- Stidham's 52-yard touchdown pass to Darius Slayton in the third quarter drew Auburn to within 31-21 -- but when Alabama put their foot on the gas pedal, HC Gus Malzahn's squad just couldn't keep pace. Thus ends a disappointing 7-5 regular season for the Tigers. Stidham considered entering the draft last winter and will have a decision to make once more upcoming. His stock has not been helped by what's been a largely stagnant season for both team and player.
Nov 24 - 7:16 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 12-of-18 passes for 178 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 53-0 rout of Liberty.

Stidham also rushed for a touchdown in the rout before handing the reins over to Malik Willis, who finished out the second half against the FBS Independent Flames. The three total touchdowns marked a season best for Stidham. Next up is the always contentious rivalry game against No. 1 Alabama next Saturday in the Iron Bowl. He passed for 237 yards with 51 rushing yards and a score in a 26-14 win over the Tide in his first taste of the rivalry last season.
Nov 17 - 9:50 PM

Auburn redshirt junior Jarrett Stidham completed 24-of-36 passes for 163 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 27-10 loss at Georgia.

Stidham rushed for 36 yards, but the Tigers were only able to muster 10 points as they suffered their fourth loss of the season, all in conference. He and the Tigers will look to regroup in a tune-up game against Liberty next week in the late-season cupcake game before heading into the Iron Bowl against Alabama on Nov. 24.
Nov 11 - 12:42 AM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 18-of-29 passes for 239 yards with two touchdowns in a 28-24 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday.

Stidham struggled for a very large portion of this game, both with accuracy and with handling the Aggies' pass rush. The final five-plus minutes of the game, however, were excellent, and Stidham had the game-winning throw on an 11-yard lob to Seth Williams with just under two minutes left. It hasn't been a great season for the redshirt junior, but all things considered, this one was a pretty decent effort. A tougher test comes next Saturday against Georgia.
Nov 3 - 3:40 PM

Auburn HC Gus Malzahn gave redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham a vote of confidence going forward.

"Jarrett Stidham will be our starting quarterback," Malzahn told Al.com. "He needs to protect the football better; he understands that, but I do have confidence in him and I think he’ll lead us in the right way moving forward." It's been an extremely disappointing season for the 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback, as he's struggled with accuracy and efficiency while leading the Tigers to just a 4-3 record. Still, Stidham gives Auburn the best chance to win, and it would be an upset if there was another starter at the position as long as he's healthy. At least for now.
Oct 17 - 5:37 PM

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline lists Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarett Stidham as his Week 7 slider after his performance against Tennessee on Saturday.

Stidham did throw for 322 yards and two scores on Saturday, but he completed just 28-of-45 passes, threw two interceptions, and Auburn lost to Tennessee. "Off the 2017 film I firmly believed Stidham could challenge to be one of the first quarterbacks selected in the 2019 draft if he opted to turn pro.," writes Pauline. "Based off his play of 2018, Stidham’s best option is returning to Auburn for another season." He does note that the 6-foot-3, 215-pound quarterback has dealt with a disappointing offensive line and inconsistent options in the passing game, but the first-round talk for Stidham has all but evaporated.
Oct 15 - 3:29 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 28-of-45 passes for 322 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in Saturday's 30-24 loss to Tennesse.

This marks back-to-back losses for the Tigers, a bad sign considering they still have Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M left to play. The score of this one suggests this game was closer than it actually was with Auburn making it a one-score game with just 37 seconds left. Stidham continued his mediocrity on Saturday and simply didn't do enough to lead his team to a win. Once viewed as a potential first-round pick in the upcoming draft, he isn't looking to be anything more than a mid-round project at this point. They will be desperate for a win against Ole Miss next week.
Oct 13 - 3:54 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 19-of-38 passes for 214 scoreless yards in Saturday's 23-9 loss to Mississippi State.

Stidham's mediocrity -- that's being nice -- cost Auburn another game. This was his second game without a touchdown and he has yet to pass for over 275 yards this season, and the redshirt junior is now averaging just 196 passing yards and 0.83 touchdowns per game through six games. There's no way any NFL team is taking Stidham serious as a first-round prospect anymore, but he will try to turn things around next week against Tennessee.
Oct 6 - 11:56 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 19-of-33 passes for 245 yards with two touchdowns in a 24-13 win over Southern Mississippi.

Stidham got off to another slow start, and was fortunate that his touchdown pass wasn't picked but landed in the arms of talented freshman Seth Williams for a 48-yard score. He also connected on a one-yard strike to Chandler Cox to extend the 21-6 in the third. Between those passes, Stidham wasn't atrocious, but he has not looked like a first-round prospect since the victory over Washington on opening weekend. He'll take on the Bulldogs of Mississippi State next Saturday.
Sep 29 - 10:06 PM

Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 15-of-22 passes for 134 yards in Saturday's 34-3 win over Arkansas.

Just not much going on here for Stid the Kid, who probably could have used a more crisp performance after trudging through a two-interception showing against LSU last weekend. In general, it's been something of a grind for Stidham this season. He's thrown for just 768 yards with a 3/2 TD/INT ratio over the course of four games played.
Sep 22 - 11:38 PM

The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard believes that Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham's stock dropped after Saturday's performance against LSU.

It was an ugly performance, to be sure. He struggled with reads and accuracy, and didn't handle pressure well at all. As Ledyard bluntly puts it: "His pocket presence, progression work, situational awareness, decision-making and field vision were all terribly lacking on Saturday, as Stidham’s lackluster performance was the clear-cut main reason that Auburn came up short in a huge game." Yes it's just one game, but it was a big test, and Stidham (6'3/215) came up way short. He'll need to be much better as the season progresses to be a potential first-round pick.
