Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders carried the ball 14 times for 128 yards in Saturday's 38-3 victory over Maryland.
Sanders (5'11/207) returned to his dominant ways one week after having a shockingly hard time achieving forward progress against Rutgers' vaunted defense. The talented junior heads into bowl season having already topped 1,200 yards rushing. Penn State would do well to utilize him in the passing game more going forward. Sanders didn't have a catch in this game. Nov 24 - 7:04 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders carried the ball 27 times for 88 scoreless yards in Saturday's in a 20-7 victory over Rutgers.

Sanders wasn't efficient in this one (3.3 yards per carry) but led the team in rushing. He wasn't able to break off anything big as his longest run of the day was just nine yards. Sanders now has 1095 rushing yards on the year and will have the opportunity to add to that mark next week against Maryland.
Nov 17 - 5:45 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders carried the ball 23 times for 159 yards with a touchdown on Saturday in a 22-10 victory over Wisconsin.

Sanders (5'11/207) was excellent against the Badgers, although he was fortunate to not have a fumble taken away from him. He also added two catches for nine yards, and he goes over the thousand-yard mark for the first time in his career. It's been a disappointing season for the Nittany Lions, but it's tough to blame Sanders for their struggles. They'll take on Rutgers next Saturday. That will be easy.
Nov 10 - 3:16 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders rushed for 62 yards on 17 carries in Saturday's 30-24 win over Iowa.

Iowa's run defense is vicious, and this was one of its most impressive showings. Sanders came into this game averaging 6.5 ypc on his 772 rushing yards. Today, he averaged a mere 3.6 ypc and struggled to find space. Things won't get easier for him next week at Michigan.
Oct 27 - 7:33 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in Saturday's 33-28 win over Indiana.

Sanders (5'11/207) got off to a nice start, scoring from one yard out just about one minute into the contest, but this ended up being a relatively modest performance by the junior. For the season, he's rushed for 773 yards and eight touchdowns in seven games. Iowa's run defense figures to be a tricky puzzle for Sanders to solve next weekend.
Oct 20 - 8:15 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in Saturday's 21-17 loss to Michigan State.

A strong, strong effort from Sanders, here, especially given the opponent. Michigan State came into the weekend boasting the nation's best run defense. The 5-foot-11, 207-pound junior averaged a sweet 10.12 YPC for the game and scored on a thrilling 48-yard run in the second quarter, a run on which he bounced off multiple would-be tacklers before making a few cuts and turning on the jets to find end zone glory. In six games this season, Sanders has now rushed for an even 700 yards and seven touchdowns. He's not Saquon Barkley -- he was never going to be -- but he's putting together a lovely campaign in his own right.
Oct 13 - 8:17 PM

The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard lists Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders as a player who improved his stock in Week 3 with his performance on Friday against Illinois.

Sanders was sensational, rushing for 200 yards and three scores in a 63-24 destruction of the Illini. This could have been an even bigger game if the game was closer, and as Ledyard notes, he's made the loss of Saquon Barkley not much of one at all. As Ledyard mentions, Sanders (5'11/207) has also been involved in the passing game with seven catches already. If he plays like this -- or even close -- against Ohio State this Saturday, the stock will explode.
Sep 24 - 9:39 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders ran 22 times for 200 yards and three touchdowns in a 63-24 rout of Illinois on Friday.

What a sensational game for Sanders, who really carried Penn State to this win. The tailback also had a passing touchdown taken off the board because of an illegal formation. Sanders can clearly make tacklers miss, and once he’s in the open field, he can run by you, too. His 48-yard rushing touchdown to give the Nittany Lions a 35-24 lead proved that. This is one of the worst run defenses in the Big Ten -- if not college football -- but Sanders is going to make a lot of defenses look bad. A tremendous match-up against Ohio State comes next on September 29.
Sep 22 - 12:40 AM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders rushed for 86 yards on 14 carries in Saturday's 63-10 win over Kent State.

Sanders wasn't forced to do much in this one with QB Trace McSorley stealing the show and the game getting out of hand. In addition to Sanders' rushing yardage, he added three catches for 30 yards through the air. He is now up to 295 rushing yards and two touchdowns through three games. He has another favorable draw next week against Illinois.
Sep 15 - 6:03 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders has earned a grade of 85.8 for the season.

Sanders was outstanding against the Panthers, running for 118 yards and needing just 16 carries to do it in the 51-6 rout of Pitt. He was able to avoid nine tackles, helping lead to a 4.83 yards after contact average. Add that to his strong game against Appalachian State, and Sanders has earned two grades that are higher than all but five of Saquon Barkley's career games. You have to be impressed with what the 5-foot-11, 207-pound junior is doing.
Sep 14 - 9:04 PM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders rushed for 118 yards on 16 carries in Saturday's 51-6 win over Pitt.

First career 100-yard game for Sanders. The 5-foot-11, 207-pounder has done a nice job in two games this season, rushing for 209 yards and two scores against the combined defensive efforts of Appalachian State and Pitt. He should find room for further impressive work in a home date with Kent State next weekend.
Sep 9 - 12:48 AM

Penn State junior RB Miles Sanders rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in a 45-38 overtime victory against Appalachian State on Saturday.

He also had three catches for 20 yards. The Nittany Lions particularly leaned on Sanders in the overtime, scoring the touchdown after handing the ball to him four consecutive times on the possession. Sanders, a former ballyhooed recruit, didn't play much the past two years while sitting behind Saquon Barkley. Nobody is Saquon, but Sanders is a nice talent in his own right. We're expecting him to emerge as a star this year.
Sep 1 - 7:35 PM

Penn State HC James Franklin said that sophomore RB Miles Sanders weighed in at 224 pounds before the start of spring practice.

Weight numbers will fluctuate, of course, but even with that in mind, Sanders has been seriously bulking up over the past few months -- he was listed at 205 pounds last season. "Now, he doesn't have Saquon [Barkley's] legs, few people do," Franklin said. "But he is put together right now." Sanders rushed for 184 yards (7.1 YPC) and a touchdown as a true freshman playing behind Barkley last season. His biggest impact came in his return prowess, as he racked up 688 yards on kick returns while averaging 20.8 yards per return in 2016.

Penn State RB commit Miles Sanders "could quickly become a feature guy not just as a running back, but also as a return man and pass-catcher," ESPN's Tom Luginbill.

The scribe thinks Sanders is a three-and-out candidate. "Aside from Christian Hackenberg, Sanders is arguably the most exciting offensive weapon Penn State has seen in years," Luginbill wrote. "Utility weapons who can create matchup problems are also becoming quite coveted in today's NFL game." ESPN ranks Sanders as the No. 67 prospect in the 2016 ESPN 300.
