Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson has not made a decision regarding his NFL future.
Patterson is draft-eligible and could bounce with the 2019 QB class thought of as weak, but Patterson isn't considered a high draft pick, so a return to school is certainly possible. Patterson did commit to playing in Michigan's bowl game against Georgia and so did Chase Winovich. Perhaps his performance in the bowl game will dictate his decision, but Patterson has plans to talk to Harbaugh before a final decision is made. Dec 9 - 6:06 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson (knee) says he wasn't seriously hurt in Saturday's game against Ohio State.

Patterson was knocked out of the game in the fourth quarter with what was later diagnosed as a right knee contusion. "I just kind of fell down weird on that sack," Patterson said. "I didn't know what happened. I should be fine." Patterson ended up returning to the field for a short spell but didn't end up finishing the game, probably because it was garbage time of a blowout. He should be good to go for the bowl game.

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 20-of-34 passes for 187 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 62-39 loss to Ohio State.

Wow. We aren't surprised that Ohio State won -- that was always a possibility -- but the way the Buckeyes laid it on to eviscerate arguably the best defense in the country was something that we did not expect in the least. While Patterson did end up throwing for three touchdowns, he received only modest support from the running game (Karan Higdon finished with 72 yards rushing) and the UM offense proved incapable of matching punches with OSU in a pivotal third quarter in which the Buckeyes outscored the Wolverines 17-0. Michigan did score 20 points in the fourth quarter...against Ohio State's 21 points. Just a dominant performance by HC Urban Meyer and crew. Michigan (10-2) will now need to regroup before bowl action. Patterson -- draft-eligible this winter -- closes the regular season having thrown for 2,364 yards with a 21/5 TD/INT ratio.
Nov 24 - 4:42 PM

Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh said after Saturday's loss to Ohio State that junior QB Shea Patterson has been diagnosed with a right knee contusion.

Patterson left Saturday's game in the fourth quarter, but was able to return to action after having a sleeve and brace applied to his knee. As a result of the defeat Michigan will not play again until its bowl game, giving the junior quarterback some time to get back to full strength. Patterson completed 20-of-34 passes against Ohio State, throwing for 187 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
Nov 24 - 4:39 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson (knee) returned to Saturday's game at Ohio State after leaving briefly with an apparent right knee injury.

Patterson, who left the field under his own power, had a sleeve and brace applied to his right knee while on the sideline. The junior quarterback returning to the game is a minor surprise, not for health reasons but rather the fact that Michigan trailed Ohio State by a considerable margin at the time.
Nov 24 - 3:49 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson (knee) left Saturday's game at Ohio State in the fourth quarter with an apparent right knee injury.

Patterson took a beating throughout the day in Columbus, but he was able to walk off of the field under his own power. The knee is the same one the junior quarterback injured in 2017 as a member of the Ole Miss program, as he suffered a season-ending torn PCL last October. Brandon Powers replaced Patterson, who will have some time to recover before Michigan's bowl game, at quarterback.
Nov 24 - 3:38 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 16-of-28 passes for 250 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Saturday's 31-20 win over Indiana.

Patterson did not do much in the win, but did make a few beautiful throws over the course of the game. His touchdown pass to Nick Eubanks came from 41 yards out midway through the second quarter. Just sort of a quiet performance on the whole, though. Up next on the docket, Ohio State, in Columbus. That will be the biggest start of Patterson's career.
Nov 17 - 9:30 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 18-of-27 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 42-7 road win against Rutgers.

There might be some folks wishing Patterson and the offense scored a few more points, but most fans and fantasy players can't complain. Patterson has racked up two or more TD strikes in three straight outings, and six of his past nine outings overall. The 260 passing yards was his second-highest total of the season, too. Patterson and the Wolverines will play their final home game against Indiana next Saturday before their showdown at Ohio State on Nov. 24.
Nov 10 - 9:37 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 11-of-17 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 42 yards and a score in a 42-7 rout of Penn State on Saturday.

This was very, very impressive; at least from a Michigan standpoint. Patterson didn't have to do much, but when he was asked to throw he was an effective passer; throwing touchdowns to Donovan Peoples-Jones and Zach Gentry and adding his second rushing touchdown in three games. Patterson (6'2/205) and the Wolverines are playing as well as any team in the country right now. Pity Rutgers, who play them next Saturday.
Nov 3 - 7:07 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson said he hasn’t been limited in practices after he received five stitches on his left hand following Saturday's win against Wisconsin.

Patterson's non-throwing hand was iced Tuesday as he spoke with reporters. The stitches were required to close a gash he suffered in Saturday’s win over Wisconsin. Patterson indicated to reporters that his left hand won't effect him at all this weekend against Michigan State.
Oct 17 - 12:25 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 14-of-20 passes for 124 yards while rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown on nine attempts in Saturday's 38-13 win over Wisconsin.

Patterson put up a season-best on the ground versus the Badgers. Now, the bulk of that action came on an 81-yard gallop down the left sideline, so we're not exactly talking about a Lamar Jackson-like effort. Still, it was nice to see Patterson get out on the move. Michigan State shows next on the UM schedule.
Oct 13 - 11:47 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 8-of-9 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown when facing pressure in Saturday's 42-21 win over Maryland

His stats under pressure add up to a 150.9 passer rating. Patterson has had an up-and-down season with multiple dominant outings and a few very average ones. He has a make-or-break game against No. 16 Wisconsin next week on the road.
Oct 7 - 11:57 AM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 19-of-27 passes for 282 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 42-21 win over Maryland.

Patterson hit on one touchdown pass in each of the final three quarters. His game logs are quite the wormhole to tumble into. In three of six games this season, the junior signal-caller has failed to throw for more than one touchdown (two of those games saw him go without a touchdown pass altogether). His other three contests have each seen him connect on three scoring passes. He's found moderate success against inferior opponents in Western Michigan, SMU and now Maryland. Otherwise, not a ton doing statistically for the Ole Miss transfer.
Oct 6 - 5:08 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 15-of-24 passes for 196 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions while running for 31 yards in Saturday's 20-17 win at Northwestern.

Patterson didn't account for any touchdowns himself, but he helped engineer scoring drives when the team needed it most, including several timely third-down completions which moved the chains. Patterson was blanked in both the passing and rushing TD columns for the first time since the opening game loss at Notre Dame on Sept. 1. In three home games he has seven passing scores and one pick. In two road outings he hasn't found the end zone while tossing one INT. The good news for Patterson is that the Wolverines are back in the Big House against Maryland next weekend.
Sep 29 - 8:17 PM

Michigan junior QB Shea Patterson completed 15-of-22 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 56-10 win over Nebraska.

The Wolverines had no need to open up the passing game, as their running game and (in particular) their defense more than carried the day against a clearly-outclassed Nebraska squad. Patterson had thrown three touchdown passes in each of his previous two games. Since that opener against Notre Dame, UM just hasn't been challenged. They'll be hitting the road to take on Northwestern next weekend. That doesn't figure to be a huge hurdle to overcome, but should at least offer a little bit of intrigue. A home game against Maryland shows on the schedule after that one before Michigan finally, finally faces another legitimate test against Wisconsin on Oct. 13.
