Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Gaskin (5'10/193) was a surprise return to school after an electric junior season, and while he didn't put up monster numbers, he did become the first ever running back to run for over a thousand yards in four-straight seasons. Scouts rave about his vision and ability to find extra yardage, but has concerns about his straight-line speed and lack of ideal size. The latter he can't control, but Gaskin will have a chance to show off his athleticism in Mobile. Dec 5 - 5:00 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin ran for 70 yards on 21 carries in a 10-3 victory over Utah on Friday in the Pac-12 Championship.

This was ugly. Both defenses were on point, and both offenses, well, both defenses were on point. Gaskin was able to make some big plays as he usually does, but there wasn't much room to run. Fortunately for the Huskies, their defense allowed just a field goal. The Huskies win the Pac-12 Championship for the second time in three years, and they'll be headed to Pasadena on New Year's Day to play in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 2000.
Nov 30 - 11:23 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries in Friday's 28-15 win over Washington State.

Gaskin (5'10/193) was just about the only player on either side to find consistent traction in what was a fun, snow-filled evening of football. The elements slowed him none. His highlight-reel run came shortly after the start of the fourth quarter, when the senior back bolted down the left sideline for an 80-yard touchdown run to put Washington up double-digits. From that point on, WSU was in serious trouble. The Huskies secured a berth in the Pac-12 Championship Game with this Apple Cup victory. They will be opposed by Utah in that bout for conference supremacy. For his part, Gaskin is now up to 1,076 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns for the campaign. He has rushed for at least 1,000 yards with double-digit scores in every one of his four seasons in Seattle.
Nov 24 - 1:17 AM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin ran for 135 yards and a score on 18 carries in a 42-23 victory over Oregon State on Saturday.

Gaskin looked like he was going to have an all-timer early, rushing for over 100 yards on his first three carries. Give the Beavers credit for shutting down the run game for the most part after that, but the damage was done. His touchdown was on a wildcat keeper in the third quarter from six yards out to open the lead to 42-16. Gaskin and the Huskies have a massive game on Friday against rival Washington State. The winner will play in the conference championship game.
Nov 17 - 8:01 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin ran for 148 yards and a touchdown in a 27-23 victory over Stanford on Saturday.

After missing the previous two games -- and a large portion of another -- with a shoulder injury, Gaskin (5'10/193) was back at it, and did he ever make a difference in this one. He helped the Huskies build a 21-0 lead, and he scored his sixth touchdown of the year on a six-yard run in the second quarter. Gaskin is as good as they come when he's healthy, and he sure looked healthy against the Cardinal. The 7-3 Huskies take on Oregon State on November 17 after a bye.
Nov 4 - 12:32 AM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) appears to be ready to go for Saturday's game against Stanford.

According to reports Gaskin was the running back for Washington's first 11-on-11 snap during the team's final warmup period, making it likely that he gets the starting nod against the Cardinal. The senior running back missed Washington's games against California and Colorado as a result of the injury. Even if Gaskin's available, Salvon Ahmed should continue to receive reps in the backfield.
Nov 3 - 8:51 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) went through the first round of pregame warmups ahead of Saturday's game against Stanford.

Gaskin, who Washington HC Chris Petersen said earlier in the week was "close-er-er" to making a return, is still considered to be questionable for Saturday's game. If the senior running back is forced to sit out for another week, look for Salvon Ahmed to make another start for the Huskies.
Nov 3 - 7:41 PM

Washington HC Chris Petersen said that senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) is "close-er-er" to a return than he was earlier in the practice week.

Coach Pete said on Sunday that Gaskin was "close" to making his return from a shoulder injury which has prevented him from playing in either of UW's last two games, hence his somewhat cute response above from Thursday's comments to the media. It remains unknown if Gaskin will be available for this weekend's game against Stanford. If the senior back can't play in that contest, Salvon Ahmed would draw the starting call.
Nov 1 - 4:51 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) is 'close' to returning according to HC Chris Petersen.

Petersen has gone through warmups in the previous two games against Colorado and California, and he hasn't played in both. It sounds like the Huskies are being extra cautious with the senior tailback, and his status for Saturday against Stanford in a must-win game for Washington is very much up in the air. It'd be a big surprise if Gaskin was anything but a game-time decision.
Oct 29 - 2:52 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's game at California.

Gaskin did take part in early warmups ahead of Saturday's game, but when the game began he was on the sideline without shoulder pads. The senior running back also participated in early warmups ahead of Washington's October 20 game against Colorado before the decision to keep him out was made. Without Gaskin, Washington will look to Salvon Ahmed in the run game with Sean McGrew and Kamari Pleasant also likely to see action.
Oct 27 - 6:50 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) did travel with the team and was participating in warmups ahead of Saturday's game at California.

There were some questions as to whether or not Gaskin, who did not play in the Huskies' October 20 win over Colorado as a result of his nagging shoulder issue, would be available. The senior running back did practice in the days leading up to Saturday's game, so his going through pregame could be a positive sign regarding his availability. Whether or not Gaskin is available, Salvon Ahmed stands to see a lot of playing time against the Golden Bears.
Oct 27 - 5:01 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) has practiced this week, but there's no update on his status for Saturday's game against Cal.

Gaskin got a "hope so" from Chris Petersen when the head coach of the Huskies was asked for his status for Saturday's contest. He was a late scratch from Washington's victory over Colorado, and has battled the shoulder injury over the past three weeks. If he can't go, Salvon Ahmed will be the lead back for the Huskies, with sprinklings of Sean McGrew and Kamari Pleasant.
Oct 24 - 3:29 PM

Washington HC Chris Petersen responded with "hope so" when asked if senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) will play on Saturday against Cal.

We checked the coach translation, and hope so qualifies as questionable. Gaskin was a late scratch from Saturday's win over Colorado because of the shoulder injury, which has bothered him since the UCLA game. If Gaskin is unable to go, Salvon Ahmed, Sean McGrew and Kamari Pleasant should remain a three-headed tandem against the Golden Bears on Saturday.
Oct 22 - 2:44 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin, who missed Saturday's win over Colorado with a shoulder injury, is not expected to miss much time.

Following the win Washington HC Chris Peterson said "we'll get him back soon" when asked about Gaskin's status moving forward. What qualifies as "soon" is the question, with Washington having two more games to play (at California, Stanford at home) before its November 10 bye week. The Huskies called upon three options at running back in Gaskin's absence Saturday, with Salvon Ahmed, Sean McGrew and Kamari Pleasant all getting at least nine carries against Colorado.
Oct 20 - 7:36 PM

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) was not in uniform for Saturday's game against Colorado.

Gaskin, who was limited in Washington's October 13 loss at Oregon as a result of the shoulder injury, was expected to play against Colorado and did go through pregame. However it's clear that the senior isn't where he needs to be health-wise, as he's now on the sideline out of uniform. Salvon Ahmed, who received much of the work at running back in the loss to Oregon, is now Washington's top available option.
