An AFC scouting director told Bleacher Report's Matt Miller that he views LSU CB Greedy Williams as a "top-15 lock."
"His size and speed are really impressive. He's a little lean but can get bulked up," the scouting director said of the 6-foot-2, 182-pound Williams. Echoing the positive sentiment, an AFC area scout added in conversation with Miller that the LSU standout's play this season has been "lights-out good." In his just-released mock draft, The Athletic's Dane Brugler pegged Williams to the Bills with the seventh pick. Dec 11 - 6:36 PM

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams announced that he will enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

Williams (6'2/182) entering is not a surprise, as he is considered by most analysts to be one of -- if not the -- best cornerbacks in the class. He was named one of three finalists for the Thorpe Award, and he gets rave reviews for his ball skills and ability to stick on wideouts. Assuming good health, Williams could easily be a top 10 pick, and is a borderline lock for the first round.

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams was named one of three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award.

The award goes to the top defensive back in the country. He'll be joined in the finalist group by Georgia's DeAndre Baker and Notre Dame's Julian Love. Williams is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the country, and is expected to be a high draft pick this spring. Baker also has a chance to be a top selection, and Love has helped Notre Dame be one of the best surprises in college football in 2018.

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams was named the top "lockdown" cornerback in college football by ESPN's Todd McShay and Mel Kiper Jr.

The two draft analysts were asked to build the best defensive backfield they could, and Williams (6'3/184) isn't the only LSU player on the list, with Grant Delpit being named the best deep-ball safety. Williams came into the year with plenty of hype, and he's lived up to it for the stingy LSU defense. "Williams struggled a little bit a week ago against Alabama, but he doesn't have much bad tape," they write. "He has an extremely high ceiling and is a potential top-five pick."

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams ranks third on Chris Trapasso's 2019 updated draft board.

The two players ahead of Williams, you ask? Ohio State DE Nick Bosa and Alabama T Jonah Williams. The 6-foot-3, 184-pound corner had plenty of plaudits coming into the season, but he's certainly lived up to the hype and then some in 2018. "Williams has passed every test he's faced in the 2018 season so far," Trapasso writes, "and he had another fine performance in LSU's loss to Florida on Saturday." Assuming he enters the draft, this appears to be a lock for the first round.

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams (undisclosed) wore a non-contact jersey during Wednesday's practice.

Williams (6'3/184) did not practice on Monday as the team works him along in cautionary fashion in advance of Saturday's game against Florida. We've not yet seen any indication that the stud cornerback is in serious danger of sitting versus the Gators. On his updated big board, Draftwire's Luke Easterling ranks Williams as the No. 7 overall draft-eligible prospect for the 2019 class.

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams (undisclosed) was not at practice on Monday.

Several LSU players missed practice on Monday, and it's possible this is just rest for the star corner. Williams (6'3/184) is considered one of the best corners in the country, and has received several first-round plaudits. Stay tuned to see if he returns to practice on Tuesday or Wednesday.

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams allowed a 27.1 passer rating in Saturday's 22-21 win over Auburn.

Williams allowed just 2-of-6 passes thrown his way to be completed. He also recorded an interception and pass break up. This was one of Williams best outings of the season and he played a major role in giving Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham nightmares all game. Williams is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2019 NFL draft and has received a 1st round draft grade from multiple analysts.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline writes LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams is "still very rough around the edges."

Williams is considered one of the top 2019 NFL cornerback prospects, but Pauline believes he is not quite ready yet. Pauline writes that Williams "struggles to locate the ball" and "does not show a real good feel for coverage at this point." With all of the excitement - Williams was named to the Jim Thorpe preseason watch list and is NFL Media's Lance Zierlein's top DB to watch in 2018 - it is notable that Pauline is critiquing Williams' ball skills. Pauline writes that everyone is counting on Williams meeting his "great upside" but he is not "NFL-ready." All in all, Pauline gives Williams a second round grade.

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Greedy Williams was named to the Jim Thorpe Award preseason watch list.

There are 35 players on the watch list this year, which is a relatively small number compared to some of the other lists that have come out so far. Williams should be among the favorites, and he's considered by many as the top corner in the 2019 draft class. You can view the full list in the link below, but other candidates include Washington's Taylor Rapp and Byron Murphy, Georgia's DeAndre Baker and Michigan's Lavert Hill.
Jul 23 - 2:13 PM

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein lists Greedy Williams as the top defensive back to watch in 2018.

LSU has produced several defensive backs to the NFL over the past few years, and Zierlein believes Williams has the talent to be the next. He does note that he needs to improve his ability locating the football when his back is to it, but there are many more strengths. " The redshirt sophomore put together one of the best freshman years that you will see, with six interceptions and a completion rate against of just 34.3 percent," he writes. "Greedy is a long-limbed speedster with disruptive ability."
Jul 9 - 4:57 PM

LSU redshirt sophomore CB Andraez "Greedy" Williams allowed the lowest passer rating when targeted against SEC opponents in 2017.

Williams was a lockdown corner in SEC play allowing only a 33% catch rate, no touchdowns, and recording two interceptions. He also led the SEC in total interceptions with six on the year. Williams has been widely projected to be selected in the first round of 2019 mock drafts and has the opportunity to be selected within the top 10 with a good upcoming season.
Jun 15 - 12:44 PM

NFL Draft Scout's Dane Brugler ranked LSU redshirt sophomore CB Andraez "Greedy" Williams seventh overall on his list of 2019 draft prospects.

Williams is widely projected to be the first cornerback off the board due to his length, speed, and quickness. Brugler added, "Williams made a splash in his first season on the field, leading the SEC with six interceptions. A tall, lanky player, he has a chance to cement his status as a top-tier prospect if he continues his development in 2018." The former four-star recruit from Shreveport, Louisiana will likely declare for the NFL draft with another strong season.
Jun 12 - 2:54 PM

Pro Football Focus notes that LSU redshirt sophomore Andraez "Greedy" Williams was second in passer rating when targeted among cornerbacks returning in 2018.

The only player with a better passer rating against was Michigan cornerback David Hill. When targeted, Williams (6'2/182) allowed a rating of just 22.9, easily the second best among returning corners. While Williams ranks second to Long, he's considered the better pro prospect, as his size and ability to close on the football has draft analysts raving. Another strong year could see him become the first corner off the board in 2019.
Jun 4 - 1:28 PM

Rotoworld's Thor Nystrom projects LSU CB Andraez "Greedy" Williams to go fifth overall to the Cardinals in his 2019 mock draft.

Williams would be the first corner off the board in this situation, and the third defensive player behind Houston DT Ed Oliver and Ohio State edge-rusher Joey Bosa. As Nystrom notes, the Cardinals addressed the offensive side of the ball in 2018, so they'll need to concentrate on the defense in 2019. "A tall, skinny corner (6’2/182), Williams is extremely difficult to shake in coverage due to his combination of long speed and quick-twitch agility," writes Nystrom, "and he shows natural ball skills on the rare occasions that SEC quarterbacks decide to test him."
