Baylor junior WR Denzel Mims caught five passes for 43 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 28-14 loss to Iowa State.
Mims (6'3/208) used his length and leaping ability to go up and win a contest jump ball fade for a touchdown. The video is linked at the bottom, and it's a must watch for those analyzing his NFL future. The junior receiver has been plagued with an unstable offense, but Mims still has posted a 43-607-6 receiving line this season. Mims has two regular season games left (TCU, Texas Tech) before he decides if he will head to the league. Nov 10 - 8:30 PM

He's back, folks. Mims (6'3/208) sat out Baylor's Sept. 15 loss to Duke because of a hamstring injury and then had a meager 2-32-0 line in his return last week against Kansas. Today, we got the Mims of old. This was his second 100-yard game of the year.
Sep 29 - 7:34 PM

Baylor junior WR Denzel Mims (hamstring) started Saturday's Big 12 opener against Kansas.

Mims, who sat out Baylor's Sept. 15 loss to Duke as a result of the hamstring injury, did participate in practice in the days leading up to the Bears' matchup with Kansas. In Baylor's Sept. 8 win over UTSA, the junior caught eight passes for 133 yards and a touchdown.

Baylor junior WR Denzel Mims (hamstring) has been practicing this week.

Mims (6'3/208) sat out against Duke last weekend due to a hamstring injury. He has practiced without issue this week, though, and should be available for Saturday's game against Kansas barring a late setback. The junior wideout had caught 11 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown through two games prior to his being held out versus the Blue Devils.
Sep 20 - 6:32 PM

Baylor junior WR Denzel Mims did not play in Baylor's loss to Duke Saturday due to a hamstring injury suffered earlier in the week.

Following the game Baylor HC Matt Rhule said that Mims, who participated in practice Friday, experienced some tightness in the hamstring which led to his being held out. The Bears could have used the junior pass-catcher, who caught eight passes for 133 yards and a touchdown in the team's Sept. 8 win over UTSA.
Sep 15 - 7:53 PM

Baylor junior WR Denzel Mims caught eight passes for 133 yards and a score in Saturday's 37-20 win over UTSA.

Mims (6'3/208) and Jalen Hurd lit up the Roadrunners for a combined 269 yards. It was a good performance by the Bears offense, which is capable of filling the stat sheet under coach Matt Rhule. As a sophomore, Mims had 1,067 receiving yards and scored eight times. The 2018 Biletnikoff Preseason Watch List receiver has a chance to showcase his talent next weekend against Duke.
Sep 8 - 11:03 PM

Baylor sophomore WR Denzel Mims posted 12 receptions for 152 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's game against Texas Tech.

Mims and freshman QB Charlie Brewer were on the same page all afternoon, and the duo looks like a dangerous pass-catch going forward. The receiver left the game briefly due to an undisclosed injury, but was not only able to finish up, but he finished up strong, too.

Baylor HC Matt Rhule announced that sophomore WR Denzel Mims (undisclosed) will return to the field against Texas Tech on Saturday.

Mims got hurt in the third quarter of Saturday's win over Kansas. Rhule said he could have returned to the game if needed. "He just got banged in a weird way on a nerve," Rhule said. "It didn’t feel too good at the time."

Baylor sophomore WR Denzel Mims caught five passes for 122 yards in Saturday's 38-9 win over Kansas.

Mims was in the midst of a strong showing when he was knocked out with an undisclosed injury in the second half. His playing status for next Saturday's game against Texas Tech will be determined over the course of the upcoming practice week. Baylor's receiving corp has been absolutely racked by injury this season and the loss of Mims -- who is up to a 43-849-7 receiving line -- for any extended amount of time would prove problematic.

Baylor sophomore WR Denzel Mims was forced out of Saturday's game against Kansas due to an injury.

Mims was injured near the end of the third quarter while attempting to make a grab in the end zone. He was able to slowly walk off the field under his own power. Consider him questionable to return. The exact extent of the injury is not currently known.

Baylor sophomore WR Denzel Mims caught seven passes for 132 yards in a 38-36 loss to West Virginia on Saturday.

Mims (6'4/180) continues to put up big numbers, even as the Bears remain without a win. The only thing he didn't do was score, but Baylor certainly doesn't score 36 points without the talented sophomore wideout keeping drives alive. The Bears will look to pick up their first win next week against the Longhorns of Texas.

Baylor sophomore WR Denzel Mims caught seven balls for 127 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 33-20 loss to Kansas State.

Mims (6'4/180) has assumed the role of WR1 in Baylor's offense with Chris Platt out for the season. A lanky speedster, Mims has gone off for an 18-319-4 line over the past two weeks. He'll continue to be heavily targeted on a week-in, week-out basis.

Baylor sophomore WR Denzel Mims caught 11 passes for 192 yards and three scores in a 49-41 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.

Mims (6'4/180) has electric speed, and the Oklahoma secondary had no answers for the talented sophomore. His first score was a 19-yard bullet from QB Zach Smith that put Baylor on the scoreboard and made it 14-7 Sooners. Then with the Bears trailing 28-10, Smith found the wideout on a fly pattern, and he was able to jog into the end zone after breaking a tackle to make it 28-17. Touchdown No.3 was the most controversial, as he may or may not have gotten a foot down in the back of the end zone to make it 49-41. The Bears aren't going to win many games this year, but that has nothing to do with Sims. He has the potential to go early in either the 2018 or 2019 draft.

Baylor WR coach Bob Bicknell said that sophomore WR Denzel Mims is "really, really fast."

"The thing about him is he can run all day. So he’s out here and he can get a ton of reps. Sometimes I look at him and I’m like, ‘Have you been in?’ And I’ll go back and watch tape and he had 50 reps," Bicknell said. Mims (6'4/180) was a rock-solid performer in the spring and has done a nice job acclimating to the pro-style concepts that the Bears are implementing under HC Matt Rhule. The former four-star recruit caught four passes for 24 yards as a true freshman in 2016, but should see a more expanded role during the coming season.

Baylor signed four-star WR Denzel Mims.

Mims hails from Daingerville, Texas, and committed to Baylor last June. In an ESPN survey of 15 Big 12 staffers and coaches after National Signing Day, one predicted that the 6-foot-4, 180-pound wideout is "going to be the best of the four wide receivers they signed. I saw them all. I really like his upside. Really raw, but great skills." ESPN 300 ranks Mims as their No. 283 overall prospect, but there's obviously a ton for HC Art Briles to mold here.
