The Draft Network's Joe Marino reports that North Dakota State QB Easton Stick continues to struggle at East-West Shrine Game practices.
In particular, Marino notes that Stick has had issues "driving" the football into receivers. "His balls lack zip and the velocity needed to arrive on schedule and there are way too many instances where the ball hits the turf a few yards in front of his desired target," he writes. "The trajectory of his throws and lack of juice on the football make it easy for defensive backs to get a jump on the football." On top of that, Marino notes that Stick is being calculated with what he's doing with the football, looking for the safest option. These are all poor reports, but the last sentence from Marino is particularly damning: "He has another practice and the game to change minds on how he is performing but it’s pretty obvious why he wasn’t invited to the Senior Bowl." The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard believes that North Dakota State QB Easton Stick struggled on Monday during practice for the East-West Shrine Game.

Ledyard goes so far as to say that Stick was the worst of the six quarterbacks he saw on Monday. "Stick consistently misfired, through [sic] the wrong route once, waited far too long to pull the trigger in 1v1s and let a semi-high snap go through his hands," he writes. There has been a lot of hype involving Stick -- and this is just one practice -- but this was essentially the consensus of what analysts saw from the signal-caller on Monday. Here's hoping he's much better going forward.

Adam Zimmer of the Minnesota Vikings and Sam Mills of the Carolina Panthers were named head coaches of the East-West Shrine Game.

Zimmer will coach the West side, while Mills will be the head coach of the East team. Unlike the Senior Bowl which is coached by NFL staffs -- this year the 49ers and Raiders are the teams coaching that event -- the Shrine Game staff is put put together individually. Zimmer is the linebacker coach of the Vikings, while Mills coaches the defensive line for Carolina.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 13-of-19 passes for 198 yards with two scores and two interceptions and ran for 121 yards with three touchdowns in a 38-24 victory over Eastern Washington in the FCS National Championship Game.

This makes back-to-back national titles for North Dakota State, and the Bison have now won an incredible seven-of-eight and 21 overall. This will be Chris Klieman's last with the school, as he's off to run the program at Kansas State. Stick (6'2/221) showed his usual ability to be accurate on passes and also burn you with runs, and his 46-yard run cemented the game for the Bison. Stick will play in the East-West Shrine Game, and with his size and playmaking ability, he has a chance to be a real sleeper at the quarterback position.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.

With all due respect to the other quarterbacks who have accepted invites to play in the event, this is the one we're most excited about. Stick (6'2/221) is one of -- if not the -- best FCS signal-callers in the nation, and has led the Bison to another appearance in the FCS Championship Game. Carson Wentz he is not, but he has a strong arm, has good control of the offense, and will get a chance to show that can translate to the next level. We're very excited to see what he can do against the competition.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 14-of-19 passes for 205 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 35-0 win over Colgate.

The Bison are off the FCS semifinals for an eighth consecutive season, and the play of Stick (6'2/221) is one reason why. The senior signal-caller averaged 10.8 yards per attempt, and his 14 completions were caught by nine different pass-catchers. A bona fide NFL Draft prospect, Stick is also a finalist for the STATS FCS Walter Payton Player of the Year award which is given to the top offensive player at the FCS level.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 16-of-21 passes for 302 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Saturday's 65-17 win over South Illinois.

This game wasn't even close, but that is what NFL quarterback prospects are supposed to do. Stick (6'2/221) averaged 14.4 yards per attempt, but he also ran for a short score just for good measure. The North Dakota State Bison (11-0) continue to be the elite football program in the FCS with their 17 game winning streak, and Stick will look to bring a championship trophy home before heading to the NFL Draft.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 15-of-24 passes for 238 yards with five touchdowns and one interception in Saturday's 48-7 win over Missouri State.

Stick (6'2/221) and the Bison are a perfect 10-0, and NFL evaluators will love his mental makeup. During his four-year career, Stick has completed 60% of his 894 pass attempts while averaging 8.6 yards per attempt (9.2 YPA as a senior), but he has a great 8.8 TD% with a low 2.6 INT% as well. Those metrics and his leadership will all check boxes, so a lot of his evaluation will be based in his film and how well NFL teams believe his skill set can translate to the NFL level.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 13-of-23 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's 17-7 win over Youngstown State.

Stick (6'2/221) and the Bison have clinched a spot in the FCS Playoffs after moving to 9-0 on the year. In Saturday's low scoring affair, Stick was still quite efficient with his passing (8.6 YPA), but he also added 43 yards and a score with his legs. The top FCS-quarterback prospect will look to extend North Dakota State's winning streak to 16 next week.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 12-of-19 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 59-14 win over South Dakota.

It's another win for the Bison (8-0) and another solid game for the NFL prospect. Not only did Stick average 9.2 yards per attempt with three scores, but he also had a big game on the ground. Stick (6'2/221) had 79 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, which brings his rushing TD total to nine. The Draft Network's Tevor Sikkema compares Stick to Jeff Garcia.
Sun, Oct 28, 2018 01:42:00 PM

The Draft Network's Tevor Sikkema believes that North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick could be a fit for the Raiders in 2019.

Stick is compared to Jeff Garcia by Sikkema, and that's a quarterback who had some success in the Gruden offense. "He’s not one to take major risks and instead understands where to go with the ball to move it down the field," he writes. "Stick is a winner, he’s won over 40 games in college with only three losses, and I imagine that kind of cheesy crap will still mean a lot to Gruden." 'Cheese crap' aside, Stick is seen as a legit prospect, and if he tests well/performs in a senior event, he could see his stock shoot up draft boards.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 13-of-22 passes for 202 yards with one interception in Saturday's 28-14 win over Illinois State.

Stick (6'2/221) has the Bison at 7-0, but the senior quarterback isn't producing the passing stats you'd expect of a FCS prospect because he's only averaging 18.4 pass attempts per game. On a per pass basis, Stick is averaging a 9.2 yards per attempt, which is very good. Stick has also been picking up running yardage all season long, and yesterday's game was no different. Stick rushed for 70 yards on just 10 carries.

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick completed 11-of-20 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's 34-7 win over Western Illinois.

Stick (6'2/221) isn't putting up the crazy passing statistics of some other FCS quarterbacks this season because the No. 1 ranked Bison are just blowing teams out, but he is still averaging 9.1 yards per pass attempt. The senior quarterback is also a threat on the ground with his seven rushing touchdowns and 4.9 yards per carry. Overall, Stick is putting together a senior campaign that should give him a shot at becoming an NFL quarterback.
Sun, Oct 14, 2018 01:42:00 PM

North Dakota State senior QB Easton Stick was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Stick was responsible for six touchdowns in Saturday's 56-31 win at Northern Iowa. The No. 1-ranked North Dakota State Bison (5-0) posted 523 yards of total offense and didn't commit a turnover. Stick remains one of our favorite FCS NFL prospects. His record at NDSU is close to perfect, and he's completed 60.1% of his career passes for 6,792 yards and a 69/22 TD/INT rate on a 8.6 ypa average with 2,040 rushing yards and 31 ground scores.

In the first ever FCS coaches poll, North Dakota State, James Madison, South Dakota State and Sam Houston State slotted at Nos. 1-4.

Few programs -- FCS or otherwise -- can rival the success of NDSU this decade, with the program having won six titles in the last seven years. The STATS FCS preseason top-25 earlier also likewise ranked the Bison as the rulers of this particular level of ball. NFL fans would be wise to keep an eye on North Dakota State this year, as senior QB Easton Stick has next-level upside.
