Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught five passes for 109 yards in Saturday's 23-13 win over Cal.
Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) was unable to find the end zone on Saturday, but proved impactful regardless. This was his fifth 100-yard showing in 11 games played, and his third such performance in his last four games. On the whole, now, the senior wideout has compiled a 60-969-14 receiving line. Assuming he plays in the team's bowl game, rather than sits out to start his draft preparation, he will have a decent chance to bump over 1,000 yards receiving for his final season of collegiate play. Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught seven passes for 106 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 49-42 win over UCLA.

Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) was not playing at full strength with his ankle injury, but it didn't stop him from showcasing his elite ball skills, especially in the red zone. The senior made an over the shoulder catch in the corner of the end zone, but he had another one of his signature basketball-like box out touchdown grabs as well. There are few, if any, college receivers with the physicality and unique high-pointing ability that Arcega-Whiteside shows nearly every game. If you haven't seen him go to work, tune into the Cal game on December 1st. The senior will bring his 14 touchdowns into that contest.
Nov 24 - 7:29 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside (ankle) is expected to be able to play in Saturday's game against UCLA.

Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) sustained an ankle injury against Washington on Nov. 3. He required a cart to leave the field in that contest and has subsequently sat out against Oregon State the following week. He likely would have sat against Cal last weekend, too, but that game was canceled due to poor air quality. With the extra time to rest up, looks like the senior wideout will try to give it a go against the Bruins. We will pass along word if there's a change to his status during pregame warmups.
Nov 24 - 3:03 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside (leg) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Oregon State.

Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) was carted off the field after sustaining a leg injury in the first half of this past Saturday's loss to Washington. Stanford HC David Shaw said that "barring a miracle" he will be sitting out against the Beavers this weekend. The senior wideout owns a 48-754-11 receiving line in nine games this season. There is no immediate timetable for Arcega-White's return at this juncture. Stanford will have contests against Cal and UCLA to close out the regular season after they have tangoed with OSU.
Nov 8 - 2:00 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside (leg) has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's game against Washington with an apparent right leg injury.

Arcega-Whiteside was taken back to the locker room on a cart after suffering the injury during the second quarter, and prior to that he couldn't put much weight on his leg while leaving the field. Stanford's next game is scheduled for November 10 against Oregon State, and it remains to be seen if they'll have their top pass-catcher available.
Nov 3 - 11:06 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside (leg) was taken to the locker room on a cart during the second quarter of Saturday's game at Washington.

Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) having to be taken back to the locker room on a cart is a concerning turn of events for Stanford's best option in the passing game. The senior was unable to put much pressure on his right leg when leaving the field after the injury occurred, and after some time in the injury tent he was then carted to the locker room. There's been no ruling on Arcega-Whiteside's status for the second half, but the odds for a return don't look too good.
Nov 3 - 10:45 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside (leg) left the game during the second quarter of Saturday's game at Washington with an apparent leg injury.

Already trailing by a 21-0 score, things got even worse for the Cardinal when Arcega-Whiteside had to depart after making his first catch of the game. The senior wideout has been QB K.J. Costello's most dependable target in the passing game this season, as he entered Saturday's game with 47 catches, 743 receiving yards and 11 touchdown receptions. Should Arcega-Whiteside not be able to return, Stanford will be hard-pressed to account for the loss of its top receiver.
Nov 3 - 10:29 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught 10 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 41-38 loss to Washington State.

Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) came up clutch with a 25-yard scoring grab to tie the game at 38-38 with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but WSU would come back with a field goal to hand the Cardinal a tough loss. This was the senior wideout's fourth game in eight contests in which he's made at least one touchdown catch, and his third 100-yard game to boot. He's without a doubt one of our favorite wideouts to watch just due to his beautiful body control and route-running. Arcega-Whiteside will try to add to his already impressive touchdown tally -- he's caught 11 this season -- against Washington next weekend.
Oct 27 - 11:32 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught seven passes for 91 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 20-13 win over Arizona State.

In a game lacking for much offensive spark, Arcega-Whiteside had a handful of noteworthy grabs, with his 28-yard touchdown catch down the middle in the third quarter snapping a 6-6 tie and giving the game its first score that was not a field goal. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior is now up to nine touchdown catches on the year. He's failed to strike end-zone gold in just two games this season. Arcega-Whiteside will try to reach double-digits in touchdowns against Washington State in Week 9.
Oct 19 - 12:50 AM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside reeled in eight receptions for 103 yards in Saturday's 40-21 loss against Utah.

Arcega-Whiteside was held out of the end zone, so that might be the most noteworthy happening of the note. He entered the game with eight touchdowns through his first five games, and he had only been blanked once, back on Sept. 8 in a win against USC. He still was tied for the game high with teammate Kaden Smith with eight grabs. Arcega-Whiteside will look to keep it rolling Thursday at Arizona State.
Oct 7 - 2:10 AM

Pro Football Focus projects Stanford senior WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside to be drafted No. 11 to Washington.

Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) has the most red zone touchdowns (6) in the nation with the second closest at four. Not only is he big, but he knows how to maneuver his body to box out defenders. After nine touchdowns last year, Arcega-White already has seven touchdowns in just four games. Pro Football Focus calls the Stanford receiver "one of the best in the nation as creating plays down the field" and credits him with the third highest grade among wide receivers this year.
Sep 28 - 5:27 PM

Stanford senior WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside caught four passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-31 victory in overtime over Oregon on Saturday.

There just aren’t many wideouts who are better in the red zone than Whiteside. He was a key part of the comeback victory, and his score late in the fourth made it 31-28. This is going to be a monster season for Arcega-Whiteside if he can keep this up, and he has a marquee match-up next Saturday -- again -- against Notre Dame.
Sep 22 - 11:53 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught three passes for 36 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 30-10 win over UC Davis.

All Arcega-Whiteside (6'3/225) does is score touchdowns; He's already up to five scores through three games. In today's game, Arcega-Whiteside scored two red zone touchdowns where he showed off his strength and boxing out skills (the videos are in the link below). With a huge frame and an ability to also beat the opponent deep, the Stanford wide out is establishing himself as one of the nation's better pass catchers. Arcega-Whiteside will look to find the end zone again next week against an Oregon offense that scores at will.
Sep 15 - 5:40 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught 6-of-7 targets 20 yards or further against San Diego State.

Pro Football Focus notes that Arcega-Whiteside recorded the "second-most deep receiving yards in a single game in the PFF College era (2014-present), trailing only Allenzae Staggers’ 249 in Week 5 of 2016." Arcega-Whiteside was KJ Costello's go-to-guy and had a career game in their season opener with a 6-226-3 line. He will likely be inconsistent this season, but his ceiling is obviously extremely high.
Sep 2 - 12:05 PM

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside hauled in six passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-10 victory over San Diego State on Friday.

If you were going to bet on a Stanford player to go over 200 yards on Friday, you'd likely bet on Bryce Love. That wasn't the case, as San Diego State bottled up the tailback, but had no chance against the 6-foot-3, 225-pound wideout. His first touchdown came in the second quarter, a 38-yard pass from KJ Costello to give Stanford a 9-7 lead. He scored twice in the third quarter, first one a 19-yard strike, and then again on a 80-yarder to give Stanford a 24-10 with 4:43 left in the third. There will likely be some inconsistent games as the Cardinal will try to get the run game going from Arcega-Whiteside, but there's no doubt the talented wideout will be the go-to option. A fun contest against USC is up next for Stanford next Saturday.
