Three-star 2017 S Jalen Pitre reaffirmed his commitment to Baylor.
This is the second time of the last month-plus that Pitre has emphatically stood by Baylor following its sexual assault scandal. Perhaps the biggest reason he remains committed to Baylor is the school's previous loyalty to him. The Bears did not pull its scholarship offer to Pitre after he tore his ACL in October. "I haven’t talked to Coach (Grobe), but I’ve talked to Coach [Cris] Dishman recently," he said. "He just told me to keep working, keep getting my knee stronger and he wants me to make the best decision for my family. I’m trying to head up to one of their practices and want to build up a good relationship with Coach Grobe." Pitre described being the only 2017 Baylor commit as "lonely at times." 2017 three-star S recruit Jalen Pitre is standing by his Baylor commitment.

"The education hasn’t changed," Pitre said, adding that Art Briles wasn't the main reason he committed to Baylor in the first place. He also noted the same position coach is still on Baylor's staff. This is just us forecasting, but that might change after this season. As of now, Pitre is the only remaining 2017 commitment sticking with Baylor at this time. Pitre's high school teammate, Hezekiah Jones, re-opened his recruitment recently after originally committing to Baylor.
