Appalachian State RB Jalin Moore (ankle) has not been medically cleared to participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy said that Moore wanted to play in the game, but sadly, it won't be in the cards. His body just isn't ready for that kind of rigor at this juncture. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder continues to rehab from the fractured, dislocated ankle he sustained against Arkansas State back in October. With the Senior Bowl no longer on the table, Moore's next theoretical stop in the draft process will come at the NFL Scouting Combine. Even if he is unable to participate in drills in Indianapolis, at the very least, NFL teams will have a chance to dig in with his medical checks. Jan 16 - 2:46 PM

Per an Appalachian State press release announcing the acceptance of his Senior Bowl invitation, redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore (ankle) had the cast on his right leg removed earlier this month.

Moore was given an 8-12 week recovery timeline when he suffered a fractured, dislocated ankle in the Oct. 9 win over Arkansas State. That would seem to give him enough time to mend for the Jan. 26 Senior Bowl. Moore, however, is almost assuredly out for the rest of Appy's season.

Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore (ankle) has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Moore (5'11/205) was lost for the season due to a fractured, dislocated ankle sustained against Arkansas State in mid-October. He subsequently underwent surgery and was facing an initial 8-12 recovery timetable, so on the shorter side of that, he would likely be able to play in the Senior Bowl come the end of January. Moore's career at Appalachian State was a prolific one which saw him top 1,000 yards rushing in two seasons of his four active seasons. For NFL purposes, he will be fighting it out for a Day 3 selection come the spring. Medical checks will be of the utmost importance once the predraft process gets underway this winter.

Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore is expected to miss 8-12 weeks rehabbing from a fractured, dislocated ankle sustained in Tuesday's win over Arkansas State.

Moore (5'11/205) sustained the gruesome injury on a 27-yard touchdown run in the first half of Tuesday's contest and was subsequently carted off the field. He'll be undergoing surgery to repair the ankle. Moore announced in a statement that the injury will mark the end of his prolific collegiate career. He entered the 2018 campaign having rushed for 1,000-plus yards in back-to-back seasons, and looked to be on his way to another this time around, at least before the wheel of fate intervened. Darrynton Evans and Marcus Williams are expected to receive the bulk of carries moving forward now that Moore's career has been prematurely drawn to a close.

Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore left Tuesday's game against Arkansas State after suffering a serious-looking leg injury.

Moore was carted off the field after scoring on a 27-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. His right leg has been fitted for an air cast. There's been speculation on social media that he might have broken his leg on the play, but we'll have to wait until after the game for more definitive word. Darrynton Evans and Marcus Williams will split carries through to the end of Tuesday's game and would do likewise beyond this contest should Moore be forced to miss further time (as would appear to be likely).

Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore rushed 19 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 52-7 victory against South Alabama.

After a slow start in the first two games on the road with just 126 rushing yards on 29 carries, he has turned it up a notch with 242 rushing yards and four scores on 27 totes over his past two outings at home. Moore and QB Zac Thomas have been a tremendous one-two punch for the high-octane Mountaineers, who look like one of the most dangerous teams in the Sun Belt (Fun Belt!). Moore will look to keep it rolling in next weekend's trip to Georgia Southern.

Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries in Saturday's 72-7 win over Gardner-Webb.

Moore (5'11/205) made Bruce Feldman's "Freaks" list after running a 4.37-second 40-yard dash, jumping 38.5 inches on the vertical, squatting 650 pounds, and bench pressing 390 pounds. His attributes translated into a big day where he averaged just 14.9 yards per carry and scored touchdowns from one and 81 yards out. The redshirt senior now has 30 career rushing touchdowns. The Mountaineers play South Alabama next Saturday.

Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore has notched athletic testing marks including an 11-foot-1 broad jump and a bench press of 390 pounds.

The Athletic's Bruce Feldman awarded Moore the honor of gracing his annual "Freaks" list. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder makes Feldman's cut courtesy of a 4.37-second 40-yard dash, a vertical jump of 38.5 inches, plus that aforementioned 11-foot-1 broad jump and feats of strength including the ability to bench 390 pounds, squat 650 pounds and clean 350 pounds. All of these impressive attributes have translated into statistical gold, with Moore rushing for 2,439 yards and 22 touchdowns over the past two seasons.

Chantel Jennings of The Athletic writes that Appalachian State redshirt senior RB Jalin Moore is the "clear centerpiece" of the Mountaineers' offense.

Moore (5'11/205) has lead the Sun Belt in rushing yards the last two years, and was the conference's Offensive Player of the Year in 2016. ""I thought this spring was Jalin’s best spring on the field," co-offensive coordinator Shawn Clark told Jennings. "I think he has really taken a leadership role." With unproven starter Zac Thomas taking over for graduated QB Taylor Lamb and a mixed bag at wide receiver, expect Appalachian State to turn to Moore early and often in 2018. They would have even if Lamb and the receiving corps was back.

Appalachian State redshirt junior RB Jalin Moore rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in Saturday's 34-0 win over Toledo in the Dollar General Bowl.

Moore (5'11/205) got the demolition started with a seven-yard touchdown run with 4:12 remaining in the first quarter. He went on to score one in each of the next two quarters as Appy State slow-boiled the Rockets to take a 27-0 lead into the final stanza. Moore wraps his season having rushed for 1,037 yards and 12 touchdowns, making it back-to-back years of 1,000 yards on the ground. He's eligible to declare for the draft, but it would be a surprise if he did. There's been zero buzz in that direction.

Appalachian State redshirt junior RB Jalin Moore went off in Saturday's 31-10 win over Georgia State, rushing for 239 rushing yards and a touchdown on 32 carries.

He added two catches for nine yards. This was a satisfying conclusion to what was a frustrating regular season. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder has been slowed by various injuries this year. He'd missed two of the last three games heading into today. Because of the missed time, he had only 563 yards and six scores on the ground prior to this afternoon.

Appalachian State redshirt junior RB Jalin Moore (foot) is not dressed for Thursday's game against Georgia Southern.

Moore missed action against UMass two weekends ago, but came back against UL-Monroe to rush for 114 yards and two touchdowns last Saturday. It appears that he is not completely past his foot injury, though. Expect Marcus Williams to carry the bulk of the load for the Mountaineers on Thursday with Moore sidelined.

Appalachian State redshirt junior RB Jalin Moore (foot) shook off injury to play well at Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday, accounting for 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Moore missed last weekend's game at Massachusetts, but he certainly didn't show any ill effects of his injury in this one. This was his second multi-score game of the season, and first since Oct. 7 when he rolled for 241 yards and two touchdowns against New Mexico State. He'll look to keep up the good work on Thursday night vs. a poor Georgia Southern squad.

Appalachian State redshirt junior RB Jalin Moore (foot) is dressed in advance of Saturday's game against UL-Monroe.

Moore sat out against UMass last Saturday due to a foot injury sustained the previous weekend. It looks like he'll try to give it a go against the Warhawks, though. If the redshirt junior is limited by degrees in the contest, Marcus Williams would see an expanded workload.

Appalachian State redshirt junior RB Jalin Moore (foot) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against UMass.

Moore (5'11/205) sustained a foot injury against Coastal Carolina last weekend. He was labeled day-to-day during the practice week, but alas, did not make enough progress to suit up on Saturday. With the stud redshirt junior nixed for the contest, Marcus Williams figures to see plenty of work for the Mountaineers against the Minutemen.
