AL.com reports that Joshua Jacobs is declaring for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Jacobs (5'10/216) will be among a large list of Alabama players who are heading to the NFL. Despite only seeing 120 carries in 2018, Jacobs is being mentioned as an RB1 candidate in this weaker running back class after averaging 5.3 yards per carry (640 yards) with 11 touchdowns. Built with plenty of athleticism -- he returned kicks for the Crimson Tide (30.6 yards per return) -- and size, Jacobs was not only a tough tackle, but he also showed off impressive receiving skills down the stretch posting a 20-247-3 receiving line. If his NFL Combine is positive as everyone expects, Jacobs will likely be a Day 2 pick. Jan 10 - 9:52 PM

The Draft Network's Kyle Crabbs writes that Alabama junior RB Josh Jacobs has the "kind of size/speed/agility" to be a featured back in the NFL.

Crabbs believes the title game is a perfect opportunity for Jacobs (5'10/216) to become the RB1 in the 2019 NFL Draft since it's a tough test against Clemson's elite front seven. Jacobs lack of a full workload may be his biggest knock against him. Heading into the Championship Game, Jacobs has 240 career carries and 47 career receptions. That's one season at the NFL level for bell cow backs. Hopefully Jacobs can get 12-15 touches against Clemson to help answer some of those questions.

Alabama junior RB Josh Jacobs (undisclosed) said Saturday that he expects to play in Monday's title game vs. Clemson.

Jacobs (5'10/216) did not practice Thursday for an unspecified reason, hence there being some questions regarding his availability for Monday's game. The junior running back, who is averaging just over five yards per carry this season, refused to comment when asked about the reason(s) for his absence from the practice.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler ranked Alabama junior RB Joshua Jacobs as the seventh-best NFL prospect playing in Monday's National Championship Game.

Five of the first six players on Brugler's list are defensive prospects, with Alabama T Jonah Williams (No. 3) the lone outlier. Then we hit our first skill-position player in Jacobs. Writes the analyst, "From his run power to his athletic cuts, Jacobs is just scratching the surface of his ability – both as a rusher and receiver." Zooming further out to his pure positional draft rankings, Brugler views the 5-foot-10, 216-pounder as the top overall running back prospect for the spring. For the 2018 season to date, Jacobs has rushed for 593 yards (5.4 YPC) and 11 touchdowns. While those numbers may seem surface-level modest, it's important to remember that Alabama has very much taken a committee approach with its backs.
Jan 3 - 3:22 PM

Alabama junior RB Joshua Jacobs rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries in Saturday's 35-28 win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

Jacobs (5'10/216) scored on a one-yard run at the start of the second quarter before scoring once more in the closing minutes before halftime. The latter touchdown came when Jacobs recovered his own fumble long enough to reach it into the end zone. While the junior is not Alabama's featured back par se -- they don't really have one -- he is a useful cog on a team filled with useful cogs.

Alabama junior RB Joshua Jacobs ran for 97 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown and caught two passes for 12 yards and a score in a 24-0 victory over Mississippi State.

The Crimson Tide struggled -- relatively, anyway -- to throw the football against Mississippi State, but Jacobs had another quality game, and came up just short of the century mark. His touchdown showed an impressive jump-cut on the rushing touchdown, and his touchdown was a swing route from Tua Tagovailoa to extend the lead to 21-0. Jacobs and Alabama play The Citadel next Saturday for some reason.

Alabama junior RB Joshua Jacobs rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in Saturday's 58-21 win over Tennessee.

Jacobs (5'10/216) is an explosive player, but he did his damage from up close today. Christian Miller's fumble recovery at the Tennessee 3 in the first quarter set up a three-yard touchdown run by Jacobs. Jacobs also had a two-yard score in the second quarter.

Alabama junior RB Joshua Jacobs rushed for 45 yards and one touchdown on six carries in Saturday's 51-10 win over Louisville.

Jacobs (5'10/216) made the most of his limited carries. In the third quarter, Jacobs found the end zone on an 18-yard run to extend the Crimson Tide lead to 34-0. Alabama once again is loaded at running back with Damien Harris and Najee Harris also looking good in the opener. Damien Harris left the game early, but it sounds like it was just for cramps. The Alabama running back group will run all over Arkansas State next weekend.

Alabama junior RB Joshua Jacobs (ankle) was limited in practice on Thursday and is "unlikely" to play in their spring game.

Jacobs wore a black non-contact jersey and only participated in a few drills at practice. Recovering from an offseason ankle surgery, Jacobs has been limited all spring and may not be fully recovered for another few months. It will be tough for Jacobs to carve out a role behind starters Damien Harris and Najee Harris barring injury, but getting himself healthy is likely his first priority.

Alabama junior RB Joshua Jacobs (ankle) did not participate in spring practice on Tuesday.

Jacobs (5'10/204) is on the recovery trail from offseason ankle surgery. He tweeted in mid-January that he had played through a broken hoof for the bulk of the 2017 season. Just when he might be able to embark on his spring work is not currently known. As a player, Jacobs is a productive backup and should continue to serve as such in 2018, though it's looking more and more like he probably won't receive a true shot to start in the backfield for the Tide barring injury. Damien Harris and Najee Harris figure to receive the majority of carries for the defending champs during the upcoming season.

Alabama sophomore RB Joshua Jacobs wrote on social media that he played through a broken ankle sustained in Week 5 of the 2017 season.

Jacobs (5'10/204) is undergoing surgery on Friday. If the sophomore's tweet is accurate on the timing front, he initially sustained the ankle break in a win over Ole Miss on September 30. He would go on to play on the bum leg through to the end of the 2017 campaign. Jacobs rushed for 284 yards (6.2 YPC) and a touchdown on the season. His availability for spring practice should become more clear as he's further removed from the initial surgery.

Alabama HC Nick Saban said that sophomore RB Joshua Jacobs (ankle) is "fine."

Saban went so far as to tell reporters that Jacobs will "play, no question" against LSU on Saturday. He's been on the mend from a minor ankle issue suffered against Tennessee prior to Alabama's bye week at the end of October.

Alabama sophomore RB Joshua Jacobs returned to practice on Monday in advance of Saturday's game against LSU.

Alabama was on bye last week, but it sounds like Jacobs wouldn't have been able to play if they had returned. With Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough ahead of him on the depth chart his touches are limited as is, and Alabama will have no reason to rush the running back into action.

Alabama sophomore RB Joshua Jacobs is dealing with a minor ankle injury.

Jacobs exited Saturday's route of Tennessee with the injury. "He probably will be in a boot for a few days, but he should be OK," said Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban. With the Crimson Tide on bye until their showdown with rival LSU on November 4, Jacobs should be ready to roll, assuming there are no setbacks.

Alabama sophomore RB Joshua Jacobs sustained an undisclosed injury in the third quarter of Saturday's win over Tennessee.

No word as of yet as to the extent of Jacobs' injury, but it did force him to the locker room. Alabama is generally pretty good about offering updates on the health front and more information figures to be available before the weekend is out.
