Sims is a really good player, but he was hamstrung by Kansas' abysmal quarterback play and overall dud of an offense this year. In 11 games, he finished with a 59-839-1 line. The 1-11 Jayhawks head into a long offseason having lost their last 11 games. Nov 25 - 3:53 PM

Kansas junior WR Steven Sims Jr. caught seven passes for 165 yards in Saturday's 30-20 loss to Kansas State.

Sims (5'10/176) is a dynamic receiver, but his production is irrevocably tied to his quarterback play. For that reason, it's been a disappointing season. Today marked a season-high in receiving yards as well as his third 100-plus yard receiving game of the year. Sims will have to average a bit more than 100 yards per game in KU's final four contests to achieve his first 1,000-yard campaign.

Outside of missing the Central Michigan game, Sims has been dynamite this year. He averaging about 100 receiving yards per game, and he's had four or more catches in all four games he's played in. The Jayhawks will be looking for their first Big 12 win next week against Iowa State

Kansas junior WR Steven Sims Jr. (ankle) is expected to return against Ohio on Saturday.

Sims missed Saturday's 45-27 loss to Central Michigan because of an ankle injury. Kansas' passing offense went into the tank without its star receiver. "We think that Steven is going to be available this week, which is good," HC David Beaty said. "He seems to be doing a lot better. I think that he’ll be fine. I’ll know a lot more today after we go through practice." Sims (5'10/176) posted 72-859-7 receiving line last season.

Kansas junior WR Steven Sims Jr. caught four passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-16 victory over Southeast Missouri State on Saturday.

Sims (5'10/176) was a breakout star for the Jayhawks last year, and he was easily the best player on the field on Saturday night. His first score was an impressive 77-yard grab to make it 7-0 Jayhawks, and his second trip to the end zone came at the end of the second half to give Kansas a 21-7 lead. The ball is going to be spread around in the David Beatty offense, but Sims is going to see more than his fair share of looks, and he'll take advantage of them.

ESPN's Jake Trotter believes that Kansas junior WR Steven Sims Jr. could surpass 1,000 yards receiving this coming season.

"Whether Carter Stanley holds on to the quarterback job, or Peyton Bender beats him out, Sims should build on last year's breakout season," Trotter writes. "Especially with pass-first coordinator Doug Meacham now calling the plays." Sims (5'10/176) logged a sharp 72-859-7 receiving line last season. He put up four games of at least 100 yards.

Kansas sophomore WR Steven Sims Jr. hauled in nine catches for 90 yards in Saturday's loss to Oklahoma State.

Sims is up to a 37-543-5 line. He holds some promise, and plays in a spread system inclined to throw, but Kansas' offense doesn't reach the end zone enough to make him a high-end fantasy option. The Jayhawks are at Oklahoma next time.
