Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray and redshirt freshman LB Zaquandre White have both been suspended for the first half of this weekend's game against NC State for throwing punches during the Clemson game.
Both Murray and White were suspended from the Clemson game in separate on-field incidents. In the postgame, FSU HC Willie Taggart dubbed the actions "mentally weak" and "what losers do" and said "that can’t happen." Murray is FSU's leading receiver, with 40 catches, 536 yards and three touchdowns. White is a freshman backup. Tue, Oct 30, 2018 01:39:00 PM

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray was ejected from Saturday's game against Clemson for throwing a punch.

Murray won't have to miss any action beyond the remainder of Saturday's game, as the penalty for this kind of ejection does not carry over into the next game (unlike targeting). Murray's been Florida State's best pass-catcher this season, as he leads the team in receptions (35), receiving yards (487) and receiving touchdowns (three).

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray caught eight passes for 131 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 38-17 win over Wake Forest.

Murray (5'11/192) logged a 33-yard touchdown grab with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. While he's not been a consistent performer this season -- he's been held under 65 yards receiving in four of seven games -- the upperclassman wideout has started to put a little something together of late. He's gone for at least 85 yards receiving in three of his last four games, with two of those three contests seeing him over 100 yards. Should he go for another strong game next weekend, he'll have to earn it: FSU will be tangoing with Clemson in a week.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray caught six passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 28-24 win over Louisville.

Murray (5'11/192) coming through with his best game of the season in this one. It was his 58-yard touchdown grab with 1:25 remaining in the contest which provided the final margin of victory for the Seminoles. He'll bring a 25-345-2 receiving line into next weekend's road showdown with Miami.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray is listed as the starter in the slot for Saturday's game against Northern Illinois.

Murray was a surprising bump from the starting lineup in Saturday's blowout loss to Syracuse, but he's back in the starting lineup -- at least on paper -- for the game against the Huskies. Murray (5'11/192) is the best pass-catching option in the offense, and the Seminoles need to figure out ways to get him the ball more often if they're going to get back to relevance. That should start against Northern Illinois this week.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray was not listed as a starter on the Week 3 depth chart released in advanced of the team's upcoming game against Syracuse.

Murray (5'11/192) will relinquish his starting slot duties to D.J. Matthews. It's a somewhat curious move, as the wideout has led the lost-in-the-wilderness Seminoles with his 11 catches for 115 yards through two games played. While Murray did undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus back in the spring, there's no indication that this demotion on the depth chart is related to a health concern. FSU will roll with Matthews, Keith Gavin and Tamorrion Terry as starting wideouts versus the Orange on Saturday.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray caught five passes for 52 yards in Monday's 24-3 loss to Virginia Tech.

Murray was one of three Seminoles to catch five passes on the night, with WR Tre' McKitty and RB Jacques Patrick being the others, and his seven targets were most on the team. But Florida State's offense was unable to produce anything more than a field goal, as the team turned the ball over five times and allowed five quarterback sacks as well. Murray caught 40 passes for 604 yards and two touchdowns last season, and he'll once again be a key option in the passing game.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray (knee) was listed as a potential starting receiver on the team's Week 1 depth chart.

Murray (5'11/192) has expressed confidence that he would be able to play against Virginia Tech on Monday, and his inclusion on HC Willie Taggart's inaugural depth chart out of Tallahassee backs that confidence. The senior wideout has been working his way back from a torn meniscus suffered in the spring. His primary competition for on-field reps this season figures to come from sophomore D.J. Matthews and standout frosh Keyshawn Helton.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray (knee) said that he's currently on track to play in the team's opener against Virginia Tech on Sept. 3.

Murray (5'11/192) said that he feels "great," though there are still a few hurdles to overcome before that opener versus the Hokies. The senior wideout -- recovering from a torn meniscus sustained in the spring -- has yet to be cleared to take part in contact work, though he has been participating in individual and 7-on-7 drills. If he's to seriously be in play for that opener, word of contact clearance should crest over the transom in the next week or so.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray (knee) was limited to catching punts in practice.

Murray (5'11/176) is easing into practice after suffering a torn meniscus in a March practice. The knee injury has prevented Murray from running routes, but it is at least somewhat promising that he is able to field punts. Last season, Murray led the Seminoles in receiving with a 40-604-4 line and figures to be a major contributor if he can return to health, especially with a limited amount of scholarship receivers on the roster.

Florida State senior WR Nyqwan Murray is expected to miss the remainder of spring practice after sustaining a tear to the meniscus in his knee on Wednesday.

Murray (5'11/176) suffered the meniscus tear on a non-contact play during Wednesday's practice. Said Seminoles HC Willie Taggart, "Had a little knee injury, a little meniscus, I think it’s a tear on the side there. He’ll be back quickly." Just how quickly will be determined over the coming weeks. Murray stands as FSU's top returning receiver after logging a 40-604-4 receiving line for the 2017 campaign. With his now being ruled out for the remainder of the team's spring practices, the Seminoles are down to just three healthy scholarship receivers in Keith Gavin, D.J. Matthews and Tamorrion Terry.

Florida State junior WR Nyqwan Murray did not take part in the Independence Bowl on Wednesday due to a concussion.

Murray (5'11/176) was a late scratch for the game due to an undisclosed injury. It has since come out that he's been fighting through a concussion. The Seminoles leaned heavily on Auden Tate -- who caught three touchdown passes -- in his absence. Murray ends his junior campaign having posted a 40-604-4 receiving line.

FSU junior WR Nyqwan Murray (undisclosed) is not dressed in advance of Wednesday's Independence Bowl showdown with Southern Miss.

Just what Murray is currently dealing with is unknown, but he'll be sitting out the Independence Bowl, leaving Florida State terrifyingly thin at receiver. With the junior sidelined, the only available scholarship wideouts for the game will be Auden Tate, Keith Gavin and D.J. Matthews. And that's it. Murray owns a 40-604-4 receiving line for the campaign.

Florida State junior WR Nyqwan Murray (undisclosed) returned to Saturday's game against Clemson.

Murray left for the locker room for evaluation after suffering an injury in the first half. Back at it, now. If there's any lingering concern, FSU will pass along word after the game.

Florida State junior WR Nyqwan Murray left Saturday's game against Clemson with an undisclosed injury.

Murray headed to the locker room after coming down injured -- he looked to be walking a little gingerly -- before returning to the sideline to try to get himself loosened back up. Consider him questionable to return to the contest.
