Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown (foot) caught five passes for 54 yards in Saturday's 39-27 Big 12 Championship Game victory over Texas before departing with an injury.

Brown, who battled an ankle sprain for much of the campaign, was carted into the locker room early in the fourth quarter after suffering the left foot injury. He was seen with tears in his eyes. We now await word on his status. While on the field this afternoon, Brown didn't have his best showing of the season. Brown (5'10/168) was a focus of Texas' defense. And while he wasn't erased, and while he did prove to be a pest in drawing flags downfield, this was not your usual Hollywood showing. The Draft Network's Brad Kelly noted during the game that Brown consistently failed to come back to the ball, preferring instead to track the ball over his shoulder. "With his lack of size, his ball skills need improvement if he wants to consistently win downfield in NFL," Kelly wrote.
Dec 1 - 4:31 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown (foot) will not return to Saturday's game against Texas due to a left foot injury.

The news regarding Brown being ruled out for the remainder of the Big 12 Championship Game isn't a shock given how emotional he was on the sideline after being evaluated by team trainers. The junior wideout was eventually taken to the locker room via medical cart, and his departure leaves Oklahoma without its best option in the passing game. CeeDee Lamb is one player who will need to step up as the Sooners look to win another Big 12 title.
Dec 1 - 3:09 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown (foot) remains on the sideline after being evaluated for an apparent left foot injury.

Team trainers were checking the top of Brown's foot on the sideline according to the ABC report, eventually putting his shoe back on and taping over it. However the junior pass-catcher was unable to put much weight on the foot and was seen on the sideline in tears. Oklahoma's most productive wideout doesn't appear capable of returning at this time, and that would be a big loss for the Sooners if that were to hold up.
Dec 1 - 3:04 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown caught 11 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 59-56 win over West Virginia.

You will not see a better game from a receiver than what Brown turned in on Friday. Not only did he repeatedly burn the Mountaineers with his downfield prowess -- he averaged 22.1 yards per reception -- the junior wideout also showed off plenty of shake 'n' bake moves in the open field to gain extra yardage. Draft Twitter was understandably awestruck by this performance, with several analysts writing that Brown would be in the conversation for WR1 should he declare for the draft later this winter. Next up for the red-hot receiver, a Big 12 Championship Game date with Texas.
Nov 24 - 12:42 AM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown caught eight passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 48-47 win over Oklahoma State.

Brown (5'10/168) popped free for a 51-yard touchdown catch near the end of the first half, his eighth scoring grab of the campaign. In addition, he has now caught 53 passes for 956 yards on the year. The junior wideout is among the more terrifying deep threats in the country. Good luck containing him next weekend, Jayhawks. Good luck.
Nov 10 - 9:01 PM

Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley (undisclosed) said Monday that he expects junior WR Marquise Brown to be "pretty close to top speed" this week.

"Hollywood" wasn't at full strength for Oklahoma's Nov. 3 win over Texas Tech according to his head coach, but he still managed to be productive. The junior pass-catcher reached pay dirt twice on the night, catching nine passes for 133 yards. It goes without saying that Brown, one of the nation's best wide receivers, is a key target for QB Kyler Murray. Next up for Brown and the Sooners is a Nov. 10 matchup with in-state rival Oklahoma State.
Nov 5 - 2:33 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown caught nine passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 48-45 loss to Texas.

Brown (5'10/168) came through with scoring grabs of four yards (in the first quarter) and 77 yards (in the third quarter). This was just the continuation of what's been a marvelous season put forth by the junior wideout to date. This was Brown's fourth game of at least 130 yards receiving, and he's now caught at least one touchdown pass in every game this season outside of OU's narrow win over Army several weekends back. He's working to a 33-675-7 receiving line for the campaign as a whole.
Oct 6 - 4:56 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown snagged five balls for 132 yards and two scores in Saturday's 66-33 win over Baylor.

Brown (5'10/168) once again functioned as Kyler Murray's go-to receiver. Outside of last week's game against Army, the funky near-upset where Brown was held without a catch, he's had a minimum of 88 receiving yards and one touchdown in the other four games. Hollywood and his Oklahoma Sooners have a big rivalry game on deck against Texas.
Sep 29 - 7:30 PM

Pro Football Focus projects Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown to be drafted by the Jets with the No. 9 overall pick.

Of course this would be a good fit for Brown as the Jets don't have a true No. 1 receiver on their roster, but the real takeaway here is Brown being viewed as a potential top-10 selection. Brown (5'10/168) doesn't have the traditional size of a No. 1, but he has the production of one. As a sophomore last year with Baker Mayfield, Brown eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards and he's well on his way to another 1,000+ yard season with Kyler Murray. Brown will run well at the combine, as he's among the nation's best deep threats. Brown is in the mix to be a top-three selected receiver.
Sep 28 - 5:20 PM

The Draft Network's Brad Kelly sees Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown coming away winner of the Biletnikoff Award.

Kelly cites several factors in Brown's favor, including the beautiful offensive system that the 5-foot-10, 168-pounder plays in, Oklahoma's repeated opportunities to play on the national stage and the program's Playoff ambitions. For the campaign, Brown owns a 19-412-3 receiving line. Two other players Kelly sees potentially jostling with the OU standout for award honors, here, are Stanford's J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Missouri WR Emanuel Hall. He believes these three young gentlemen will begin to emerge as leaders of the pack in this race as the campaign unfolds on its merry way.
Sep 26 - 12:24 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown snagged nine passes for 191 yards and a score in a 37-27 victory on Saturday over Iowa State.

Once again, the man they call "Hollywood" was a star for the Sooners. He remains signal-caller Kyler Murray's top target, and for good reason. The two connected on a 75-yard touchdown that was the first trip to the end zone for either team in the first quarter, making the score 10-0 Sooners. If there was any doubt before, it's clear that the 5-foot-10, 168-pound Brown is one of the very best wideouts in the country. He and the Sooners should have a field day next Saturday against Army.
Sep 15 - 3:35 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown hauled in four passes for 88 yards and a touchdown in a 49-21 rout of UCLA on Saturday.

Brown's day could have been much bigger if he wasn't forced to leave with cramping. He did return, however, and the junior wideout was able to score a 58 yard touchdown on a pass from Kyler Murray in the first quarter. Brown and CeeDee Lamb are one of -- maybe the -- best duos in the country at the wideout position, and they've shown as much early on. Iowa State is next for the Sooners next Saturday.
Sep 8 - 4:46 PM

Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown returned to Saturday's game against UCLA after leaving briefly due to cramping.

With starting RB Rodney Anderson (knee) having already been ruled out for the remainder of the game, Oklahoma fans breathed a sigh of relief when Brown made his way back onto the field. Through two-plus quarters against the Bruins, Brown caught four passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Brown caught six passes for 133 yards and a score in Oklahoma's season-opening win over FAU.
Sep 8 - 3:36 PM

Per Pro Football Focus, Oklahoma junior WR Marquise Brown's grade of 88.8 against FAU last weekend was tops among Week 1 receivers.

Brown (5'10/168) crushed the Owls for a 6-133-1 receiving line in Week 1. No performance by a wideout graded out higher by PFF metrics, which had Darius Davis (TCU), Gary Jennings (West Virginia), Isaiah Zuber (K-State) and KaVontae Turpin (TCU again) all trailing the Oklahoma standout for pole position on the initial slate. Brown will face a cushy matchup against UCLA on Saturday as he and QB Kyler Murray continue to work on their telepathic connection.
