LSU senior RB Nick Brossette rushed 29 times for 117 yards in Tuesday's 40-32 bowl win over UCF.
Brossette (6'1/221) wasn't overly productive, but it was a gutsy performance for the down-hill runner. As a senior, Brossette rushed for 1,039 yards and 14 touchdowns, and we'll get a chance to look at him at the East-West Shrine Game. The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard doesn't anticipate Brossette to wow anyone at the NFL Combine, but he notes that the senior is "physical in all aspect of the game." It appears that Brossette is gunning for a Day 3 selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. Jan 1 - 5:27 PM

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.

Brossette (6'1/221) finished the regular season just shy of 1,000 yards rushing, gaining 922 yards (4.4 YPC) and 14 touchdowns on 211 carries over the course of 12 games played. While those are respectable enough numbers, a lack of overt athleticism could prove problematic to his landing with an NFL squad during the draft proper. The Draft Network's Jon Ledyard notes that Brossette's film shows someone who will probably run the 40-yard dash in the vicinity of 4.70 seconds and that the LSU senior is "[n]ot a sudden athlete in space and won’t make defenders miss in an elusive fashion very often." If we're looking for positives in his profile, Ledyard does love his toughness, referring to him as "[p]hysical in all aspects of the game."

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in Saturday's 42-10 win over Rice.

Brossette (6'1/221) has now scored in seven of the last eight games with the only scoreless game coming against Alabama. The senior back plunged into the end zone twice from the two-yard line, which brought his season total all the way up to 13. Brossette will bring his consistent production into next week's game against Texas A&M.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette (undisclosed) didn't practice on Wednesday.

No reason is apparent for why Brossette (6'1/221) would miss practice, so this could be just a chance to give the senior tailback some rest as the Tigers don't have a game this week. Until we hear otherwise, it's probably safe to say this is just maintenance for the tailback.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in Saturday's 19-3 win over Mississippi State.

Brossette (6'1/221) led the Tigers in rushing on the evening and scored via a one-yard touchdown run just moments after the opening kickoff. That would be the only touchdown of the game. From that point on, field goals on repeat. LSU finished with 239 yards of total offense. While Brossette has not had a 100-yard rushing game since Week 2, Saturday's 57 yards on the ground marked his lowest output of the campaign. The junior has been very, very consistent if nothing else.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette carried the ball 15 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-19 loss to Florida on Saturday.

Brossette was mostly held in check in this one outside of two big runs, but those two runs count on the box score, and he was able to find the end zone twice this year. The 6-foot, 221-pound tailback has now scored multiple touchdowns in three games, and he ups his total to eight on the season. He'll have to be at his best next Saturday if they have any chance of upsetting Georgia.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette rushed 23 times for 78 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 38-21 win against Louisiana Tech.

Brossette and the LSU rushing attack were having their way with the Bulldogs, rumbling for 218 rushing yards and 4.5 yards per attempt while scoring five touchdowns on the ground. The run game was the difference in this one, and Brossette was front and center as expected. The Bayou Bengals will be back in conference play and under the lights when they host Ole Miss next weekend.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette ran for 137 yards on 19 carries in a 31-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday.

Brossette didn't get into the end zone, but that was the only "blemish" for the senior tailback. He kept the chains moving, and he looks like the best player on the offense so far in these first two games. It's back-to-back games of 125-plus yards for Brossette, and he has looked every bit the part of a competent replacement for Derrius Guice. A very steep test comes next Saturday, however, in the form of Auburn.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette ran 22 times for 125 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-17 victory over Miami on Sunday.

Brossette and Clyde Edwards-Helaire were listed as co-starters coming into the game. That was not an accurate representation. The senior tailback was clearly the bellcow, and he looked fantastic against the Miami defense. He showed impressive burst on a 50-yard touchdown to give the Tigers a 10-3 lead, and he plunged in for a yard to make it 17-3 near the top of the second period. He had several other quality runs, and kept the chains moving. Edwards-Helaire could be in for more carries as we move forward, but based on what we saw Sunday, it's his backfield. He's back on the field on Saturday against Southeastern Louisiana.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette was named co-starter at running back for Sunday's game against Miami.

Brossette gets the co-start designation with sophomore Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Both players reportedly flashes during camp at times, and the 6-foot, 209-pound tailback owns a career 6.7 YPC in his (very) limited time with the Tigers over the past three years. Edwards-Helaire may offer slightly more upside, but LSU knows that Brossette can be an effective carrier of the rock. Expect both to get plenty of touches in 2018.

LSU senior RB Nick Brossette will receive the opening snaps with the first-team offense during spring practice.

This will be the first time that the Tigers have truly had to figure out their running back situation since 2014, as they've been rolling with Leonard Fournette and later with Derrius Guice over the past four seasons. Brossette (6'0/209) will have the first crack at impressing this spring. He's never received more than 20 carries in a season, but has flashed in his (very) limited opportunities. For his career, the former three-star recruit has averaged 6.7 YPC.

LSU junior RB Nick Brossette indicated that he believes that he is ready to serve as backup to junior RB Derrius Guice.

"I got stronger and faster. I feel like this is going to be a big year for me if I keep doing the little things like my brothers told me before. Everything will take care of itself. It’ll fall in place," said Brossette. The 6-foot, 209-pound junior was a four-star recruit out of high school during the 2015 cycle. While Brossette was predictably buried behind Guice and Leonard Fournette this past season, he excelled in limited action, rushing for 145 yards on just 15 carries. That works out to a lovely 9.7 YPC clip. Joining Brossette in the chase to play backup to Guice is senior RB Darrel Williams.
