Buffalo senior LB Khalil Hodge was ejected for targeting with just over two minutes remaining in Tuesday's game against Miami (OH).
Hodge was ejected after an illegal hit on Redhawks QB Gus Ragland with the game all but over. The Bulls lead 51-42 with 1:44 remaining in the fourth quarter as of this posting. The silly penalty will result in the star linebacker sitting out suspended for the first half of next Tuesday's game against Kent State. Oct 30 - 11:43 PM

CBS Sports draft writer Chris Trapasso believes that Buffalo senior LB Khalil Hodge deserves "more love" as an NFL Draft prospect.

The hype for the Bulls goes to Tyree Jackson and Anthony Johnson -- and for good reason, they are two of the most intriguing quarterbacks and wide receivers in the country, respectively -- but Hodge has a chance to be the highest drafted Buffalo player. He has 18 tackles through two games, and he looks 6-foot-1, 235-pound backer has looked the part -- albeit against inferior competition. Trapasso notes his ability to change directions, diagnose plays and make plays in coverage. "Notre Dame's Te'von Coney, LSU's Devin White, and Wisconsin's T.J. Edwards are the current headliners at off-ball linebacker in the 2019 draft class," writes Trapasso, "but it's time we start mentioning Hodge in the same breath as those three defenders."

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline gives Buffalo senior LB Khalil Hodge a third-round grade for the 2019 draft class.

The "famous" prospects for the Bulls are QB Tyree Jackson and WR Anthony Johnson, but Hodge has a chance to give Buffalo their highest drafted defender since Khalil Mack. Hodge isn't quite that level of prospect -- few are -- but he's a defender who as Pauline writes "shows great quickness and instincts in run defense, firing to ball carriers and bringing them down at the point of attack." Don't be surprised if Hodge is one of the first defenders off the board from the MAC.

Buffalo junior LB Khalil Hodge had 13 tackles, two TFL, one interception and a pass breakup in last week's win over Ohio.

Hodge has been obscenely productive this year, posting 154 tackles, two interceptions and a pair of forced fumbles. "Hodge is a dominant run defender best making plays up the field or in pursuit," Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline wrote. "He’s a natural MLB/ILB with starting potential at the next level."

Buffalo junior LB Khalil Hodge "shows next-level ability as a run defender yet is more of a two-down player," according to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline.

Hodge (6'1/240) logged 123 total tackles and seven TFL last year. After recording a ridiculous 262 tackles his senior season of high school in Stockton, CA, Hodge played for a year at the City College of San Francisco before transferring to Buffalo.
