Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 18-of-35 passes for 272 yards with two touchdowns in a 30-29 loss to Northern Illinois on Friday in the MAC Championship.
This was a blowout for two-plus quarters, as the Bulls built a 29-10 lead in the third. Unfortunately, the Bulls got nothing good on offense from that point on, and the Huskies were able to make the impressive comeback. Jackson showed off his usual arm strength and threw two gorgeous touchdowns to Anthony Johnson, but he also has a few throws he'd like to take back. The Bulls will be going bowling, but they miss out on a chance to win their first MAC championship. Nov 30 - 10:39 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 12-of-20 passes for 151 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Friday's 44-14 win at Bowling Green.

The Bulls have won 10 games for the first time in history, and they will travel to the MAC Championship Game in Detroit next Friday to battle Northern Illinois after winning the East Division. It's the first appearance for UB in the title game since 2008. It's been a special season in western New York, as Buffalo's football team set a school record and the basketball team had an upset over West Virginia and a top-25 ranking.
Nov 23 - 3:29 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 9-of-21 passes for 116 yards and two interceptions while rushing for 70 yards and a touchdown in Wednesday's 52-17 loss to Ohio.

Jackson (6'7/245) did have a nice evening as a runner -- his 70 yards rushing came on just three attempts, with a long run of 55 yards -- but otherwise this was one of his more lackluster performances of the campaign. This was just his third game all season in which he has thrown multiple interceptions and his first with zero touchdown passes. Jackson and company will look to rebound from this uninspiring showing in their regular-season finale against Bowling Green a week from Friday.
Nov 14 - 10:30 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 20-of-34 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 22 yards and three additional scores in Tuesday's 51-42 win over Miami (OH).

This was MACtion to the max, with both teams putting up huge offensive numbers. Nobody shone more brightly on the individual level than Jackson and Bulls WR Anthony Johnson (8-238-3). For his part, the redshirt junior signal-caller accounted for four touchdowns in the first half before adding two more in the third quarter to help the Bulls pull away by degrees on the scoreboard. Buffalo finished with 505 yards of total offense, while the 6-foot-7, 245-pound Jackson has now been responsible for 28 total touchdowns this season. He is as tools-y as they come and will be a fascinating case for draft evaluation next spring should he declare over the winter.
Oct 31 - 12:06 AM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 25-of-46 passes for 326 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Saturday's 31-17 win over Toledo.

Interesting little game for Jackson here, as for once he wasn't necessarily the straw that stirred the drink for the Bulls. He faced pressure for about the first time this season, having entered been sacked only once all year. He also threw three picks after entering today with an 18/5 TD/INT rate. But Jackson's teammates utterly dominated Toledo, leading to a monstrous yardage and first down edge that nullified the turnovers. Buffalo is for real, folks.
Oct 20 - 3:50 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 10-of-20 passes for 127 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 34-24 win over Central Michigan on Saturday.

He also added a touchdown on the ground from five yards away. Jackson's final stats were underwhelming but it's mostly because he wasn't asked to do very much as the running game was absolutely dominant. His lone touchdown strike was in the first quarter from six yards out to Tyler Mabry. After starting the season pretty hot, Jackson has cooled off considerably and now has back-to-back games with just 10 completions. He will look to turn it around next week against the Akron Zips.
Oct 6 - 6:30 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 10-of-24 passes for 152 yards with a touchdown in a 42-13 blowout loss to Army on Saturday.

Things started out well for Jackson with a 53-yard touchdown pass to K.J. Osburn at the top of the first quarter. After that, Jackson was not at his best, or close to it. He was missing superstar Anthony Johnson, but he was inaccurate, and he was fortunate to not be picked off a part of times. The 6-foot-7, 245-pound quarterback intrigues with his arm talent, but he needs to be much, much better than this going forward to be considered an NFL prospect. He should have a much better day next Saturday against Central Michigan.
Sep 29 - 3:32 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 14-of-28 passes for 263 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Saturday's 42-13 win over Rutgers.

Jackson had a small handful of throws in this game which were NFL caliber "wow" displays. He also threw a pair of picks and only completed 50-percent of his passes against Rutgers' brutal defense, but we're not trying to nitpick here. Jackson is oh so very raw, but boy is he talented. The NFL is watching closely.
Sep 22 - 3:48 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 4-of-9 of his passes 20+ yards downfield for 217 yards and two touchdowns.

Jackson (6'7/245) picked apart the Eastern Michigan defense in the 35-28 win on Saturday. The big-bodied quarterback definitely showcased his big arm strength, but it was his mobility in and out of the pocket that allowed him to create big plays. On one big touchdown pass, Jackson quickly rolled out to his right side and ripped a crisp pass to K.J. Osborn who ran it in for a score. The "toolsy" quarterback is climbing up NFL Draft boards.
Sep 16 - 1:26 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson completed 21-of-26 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 35-28 win over Eastern Michigan.

Jackson (6'7/245) is up to 12 touchdowns with just one interception through three games and is well on his way to becoming an NFL draft pick. It certainly helps that Jackson has Anthony Johnson as his primary target, but today it was all on Jackson and K.J. Osborn, who scored three touchdowns. One of the scores came on a rocket throw when Jackson was rolling out, which showed off his ability to move and throw with his big frame. The dual-threat quarterback will continue to put up big numbers and hope to check more boxes for NFL scouts next week against Rutgers.
Sep 15 - 9:54 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson went 26-of-45 for 275 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 36-29 victory over Temple.

Not the most impressive day, with sub-60% completions and 6.1 ypa. But this wasn't a plum matchup -- on the road in Philadelphia against a team that has had a lot of success in the AAC recently -- and Jackson was money late when Buffalo needed him to be. He drove down the field in the last two minutes of a tie game, eventually hitting Anthony Johnson for a game-winning touchdown. Jackson (6'7/245) is a very intriguing NFL Draft prospect.
Sep 8 - 7:36 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson went 17-of-27 for 189 yards and six touchdowns in Saturday's 48-10 win over Delaware State.

Jackson (6'7/245) already has 50 percent of last season's touchdown production. With a massive frame and athletic ability, Jackson was able to rip apart Delaware State throwing touchdowns to four different receivers, including future NFL-er Anthony Johnson. Already on the map as a small school quarterback with an NFL future, today's performance will make Jackson an even bigger prospect. Jackson and Bulls will play on the road at Temple.
Sep 1 - 9:31 PM

Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson posted a quarterback rating of 104.4 on non-play action passes last season.

Per Pro Football Focus, Jackson's quarterback rating on standard passes stands as the best mark among returning MAC signal-callers. The 6-foot-7, 245-pounder threw for 2,096 yards (60.3-percent completions) with a 12/3 TD/INT ratio last season while rushing for 197 yards -- down from 399 yards in 2016 -- and four touchdowns. Buffalo is going to be drawing a number of scouting eyes during the coming campaign, as Jackson an intriguing athlete with a big arm who will be throwing the ball to Anthony Johnson, one of the best receivers in the country and a future NFL-er in his own right.
Jun 26 - 3:31 PM

Draft Wire's Luke Easterling lists Buffalo redshirt junior QB Tyree Jackson among the best "small school" prospects in the 2019 draft class.

"If you enjoyed Josh Allen, you should love Jackson just as much," writes Easterling. At 6-foot-7, 245-pounds and with a strong throwing arm, Jackson is going to get compared to the Bills first-round pick often in 2018, and if he enters the draft, those comparisons will continue into the spring. "Another big, athletic but raw passer with a cannon for an arm, Jackson has flashed incredible potential in limited work so far," Easterling writes. "Having one of the best receiver prospects in the country (Anthony Johnson) should continue to help his on-field success and his draft stock." There will be plenty of scouts checking out the MACtion in Buffalo this fall.

Jun 11 - 2:37 PM

Buffalo redshirt sophomore QB Tyree Jackson completed 19-of-30 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Fridday's regular-season finale win against Ohio.

The Bulls were in dire straits (3-6 overall, 1-3 conference) heading into the Bowling Green game, but they rattled off three straight wins to gain bowl eligibility. Jackson was able to return from a knee injury which knocked him out of the FAU game in September, and that was a huge part of their return to form. Buffalo will be a dangerous team heading into bowl season, as they're on quite the roll.
