Washington redshirt senior TE Drew Sample has accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Sample (6'5/251) took a step forward as a receiver in 2018. As a junior, Sample caught seven passes across five games, but he caught 23 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns this season. The Athletic's Dane Brugler calls Sample a third or fourth round draft pick, but he will have a chance to rise up draft boards with a good showing at the Senior Bowl and at the combine. Analytically-driven teams will not like Sample's 7.6 yards per target. Sun, Dec 9, 2018 05:04:00 PM

Washington HC Chris Petersen offered no specific timetable for the return of junior TE Drew Sample (leg).

Coach Pete deemed the 6-foot-5, 260-pound Sample to be day-to-day at the beginning of the practice week, but this leg injury looks like one that might have him sidelined beyond just this weekend's game against Fresno State. Will Dissly and Hunter Bryant figure to see the bulk of work versus the Bulldogs with Sample currently down for the count.

Washington junior TE Drew Sample suffered a leg injury against Montana and is considered "day to day."

Head Coach Chris Petersen said that Sample is still "being evaluated." If he's unable to go, the Huskies will turn to senior TE Will Dissly and freshman TE Hunter Bryant, among others.
