Miami DB Sheldrick Redwine will be playing cornerback during the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Very interesting. Redwine was a free safety at Miami, but the 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back has corner size, and that's the position he'll be playing in Mobile. That makes the former Hurricane one of the five prospects with the most to prove to The Draft Network's Joe Marino. "I never had questions about Redwine’s projection to playing safety in the NFL," Marino writes. "He was a fixture there for the Canes for multiple seasons and gauging his skill set was easy, but the transition to corner has me perplexed." We're excited to see how he handles said transition. Miami senior S Sheldrick Redwine accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Redwine is a full-bodied free safety listed at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, but it's his production as a senior that has led to this Senior Bowl invitation. In 2018, Redwine started all 13 games making a career-high 64 total tackles with four forced turnovers (three interceptions and one forced fumble recovery). A free safety with three blitzes as well, Redwine is currently viewed as a late-round prospect.

Miami senior S Sheldrick Redwine accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.

Redwine (6'1/195) has been the starting free safety for the Hurricanes the last two years, and he registered 116 tackles and five interceptions over that time frame. He also picked up three sacks last year, so his ability to blitz will be something scouts will certainly keep an eye on. He's viewed as a late-round pick by analysts right now, but that stock could certainly improve if he plays well at events like this.

Miami junior S Sheldrick Redwine (upper extremity) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Georgia Tech.

While Canes HC Mark Richt has not forwarded a specific diagnosis, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Christy Cabrera Chirinos passes along that Redwine might be dealing with a concussion. In four games this season, the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder junior has registered 12 tackles and a pair of passes defended. Amari Carter could see additional work with Redwine nixed for Saturday's game.
