Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Higdon (5'10/202) will be launching into the predraft evaluation season coming off his best overall campaign in the collegiate ranks. The senior back has rushed for 1,178 yards (5.3 YPC) and 10 touchdowns over the course of 11 games played on the year. As for his draft profile, The Draft Network's Kyle Crabbs noted over the summer that Higdon "[p]airs potent burst with a violent and aggressive demeanor in high traffic areas" while cautioning that his style could be a physically taxing one given his somewhat slight frame. The UM product figures to be in the mix for a Day 3 selection come the spring draft. Nov 29 - 6:54 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon guaranteed that Michigan would beat Ohio State on Saturday.

"Yeah, I do," Higdon said when asked if he guaranteed the victory, in a video by Toledo Blade writer Kyle Rowland. "That how I feel. I believe firmly in my brothers, and this team, and this coaching staff, and as a captain, I’ll take that stand. Why not?" Higdon and the Wolverines are a couple of wins from the playoffs, and one of the reasons for that is Higdon, who is over a thousand yards with 10 touchdowns in 2018. They haven't beaten the Buckeyes since 2018, however, and with the game in Columbus, it might not be as easy as Higdon thinks.
Nov 19 - 5:25 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in Saturday's 31-20 win over Indiana.

One week before The Game, both Ohio State and Michigan were less-than-locked-in on Saturday, with the Buckeyes barely eeking out a 52-51 overtime win over Maryland and the Wolverines just sort of floating through their win over the Hoosiers. UM came in as a 28-point favorite. Both squads did manage to survive, anyway. Zooming in on Higdon, now, Saturday's effort gave him his eighth 100-yard showing of the campaign. Given OSU's shoddy run defense, he could feast in a week.
Nov 17 - 9:26 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon rushed 15 times for 42 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Saturday's 42-7 win at Rutgers.

Higdon opened the scoring with a 1-yard run with :45 left in the first quarter, and he opened the second quarter with another 1-yard scoring plunge. Higdon saw his 100-yard streak snapped at seven games, as he got off to a slow start with just 2.8 yards per carry. Then the game started to get out of hand and the Wolverines rolled with Tru Wilson and Chris Evans to close it out. He'll look to get back into triple figures against Indiana in the final game at the Big House next Saturday.
Nov 10 - 9:46 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon ran for 132 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in a 42-7 walloping of Penn State on Saturday.

The Wolverines were able to rush for 259 yards against Penn State on Saturday, and the majority of those were by the talented junior tailback. His score was a plunge up the middle from four yards to extend the lead to 35-0 in the fourth. It's now seven-straight games over 100 yards for the 5-foot-10, 202-pound junior, and his touchdown count ups to seven. Both numbers will almost assuredly go up next Saturday against lowly Rutgers.
Nov 3 - 7:11 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon rushed for 139 yards on 32 carries in Saturday's 21-7 win over Michigan State.

Fantastic work once more from Higdon. He's been as solid as they come this season, with Saturday's output marking his sixth game over 100 yards rushing on the campaign. He's hit that number in every game since the opener against Notre Dame. For the year as a whole, now, the 5-foot-10, 202-pound senior has gone off for 826 yards and six touchdowns. Higdon and crew will be on bye next weekend, and will play Penn State on Nov. 3 coming out of the break.
Oct 20 - 5:12 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in Saturday's 38-13 win over Wisconsin.

HIgdon (5'10/202) went over the 100-yard mark for the fifth time in 2018 during Saturday's clutch home win. After a scoreless first quarter, the junior broke the seal with a little two-yard scoring run early in the second quarter, with Michigan going on to take a slim 13-10 lead into halftime. They would score one more touchdown in the third quarter before pulling away (and then some) in the final stanza. For the season, Higdon has now rushed for 687 yards and six touchdowns. No rest for the weary, though, as UM will bounce from this impressive win right into a date with Michigan State next weekend.
Oct 13 - 11:39 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon rushed for 103 yards on 25 carries in Saturday's 42-21 win over Maryland.

Higdon (5'10/202) wasn't tearing it up with explosive run after explosive run, but he reached 100 yards rushing for the fourth time this season -- in five games played -- nonetheless. The senior has gone off for 582 rushing yards for the overall campaign. He'll try for another respectable output in a huge date with Wisconsin next weekend.
Oct 6 - 5:02 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon rushed 30 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 20-17 victory at Northwestern.

Higdon capped off the scoring in the first half with a 4-yard scoring tote, and he added the game-winner with 4:06 to go in regulation. It was a much more difficult game than anticipated for the Wolverines, who were lucky to sneak out of Evanston with a win in their pocket. They have the hard running of Higdon to thank for this big win. He will try for his fourth consecutive 100-yard game, and his fifth straight with at least one rushing touchdown, when Maryland pays a visit to Ann Arbor next weekend.
Sep 29 - 8:21 PM

Michigan senior RB Karen Higdon was named the offensive player of the week by the Reese's Senior Bowl for his efforts against Nebraska.

Higdon needed just 12 carries to pick up 136 yards and a touchdown in the 56-10 trashing of the Cornhuskers. Senior Bowl Executive Director notes that Higdon (5'10/202) isn't afraid of contact, and tacklers will slide off of him as he runs hard. "The one thing that has stood out on tape over the past two years is his good burst," Nagy writes. "As he did on his 44-yard TD run last Saturday, Higdon has the juice to get to the corner and another gear to break away once he gets in the clear." Nagy does say that he needs to work on his pass-catching skills, and that one-on-one drills will be very important for the senior tailback during draft workouts.
Sep 27 - 2:23 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon (undisclosed) rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in Saturday's 56-10 beatdown of Nebraska.

Higdon (5'10/202) was scratched late with an undisclosed injury concern just prior to last Saturday's win over SMU, but he showed no ill effects from that issue in his helping the Wolverines to absolutely obliterate the Huskers. His touchdown run came from 44 yards out early in the first quarter. Michigan would go on to build build build on their lead, eventually taking a 39-0 edge into the halftime break. Even sitting out one game, Higdon's numbers still look sharp on the whole, as he's now rushed for 364 yards and three touchdowns through three games played. An Evanston date with Northwestern shows next on UM's schedule.
Sep 22 - 5:16 PM

Michigan RB Jay Harbaugh said that he expects senior RB Karan Higdon (undisclosed) to be available for Saturday's game against Nebraska.

Higdon was a late scratch for this past weekend's win over SMU due to an undisclosed injury concern, but the 5-foot-10, 202-pound junior has been practicing this week and sounds like he should be ready to roll come Saturday. We'll continue to count him as day-to-day up until kickoff. UM looks like it will have its top two backs available versus the Huskers, as Chris Evans -- also dealing with an undisclosed issue -- is likewise expected to be available for that Saturday showdown in Ann Arbor.
Sep 19 - 3:57 PM

Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon (undisclosed) is day-to-day.

Wolverines HC Jim Harbaugh would offer only that Higdon is "working through something." Whatever he's working through forced him to sit out this past Saturday's win over SMU. With Chris Evans also nursing minor injury, that could mean additional touches for Tru Wilson and O'Maury Samuels against Nebraska on Saturday. We should have a more clear idea as to Higdon's status for that contest as the practice week progresses. In a positive development, he did tacke part in practice on Tuesday.
Sep 18 - 6:52 PM

Updating a previous item, Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against SMU.

No word as to the exact injury Higdon's working through, but UM radio chatter during the week had him being "dinged up." Chris Evans is drawing the start, here. Higdon is coming off a 156-yard smashing of WMU last weekend, so it's not the most ideal of losses. There's no immediately known timetable for his recovery at this juncture.
Sep 15 - 4:30 PM

Per Pro Football Focus, Michigan senior RB Karan Higdon forced five missed tackled in Saturday's 49-3 win over Western Michigan.

Higdon was uber-efficient in this game as a whole after racking up 156 yards-- 99 of which after contact-- and a touchdown on only 13 carries. He has been the highlight of this offense through two games and figures to continue that next week at home against a struggling SMU squad.
