Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam (shoulder) is not listed on the depth chart for Saturday's game against Tennessee.

The injury also forced Okwuegbunam to miss last Saturday's win over Vanderbilt. Okwuegbunam originally suffered the injury in the first game of November against Florida. The fact that he's not being listed on the depth chart is not a good sign for his potential availability this weekend.
Nov 13 - 1:17 PM

Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Vanderbilt.

Okwuegbunam injured his shoulder against Florida last weekend and practiced sparingly during the week. His loss is a major one for Missouri, as the redshirt sophomore is one of QB Drew Lock's preferred targets. There is no immediate timetable for Okwuegbunam's return to action at this juncture.
Nov 10 - 11:45 AM

Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam (shoulder) didn't practice on Tuesday.

This isn't a big surprise, as Mizzou beat reporter Dave Matter wrote in recent that days that Okwuegbunam (6'5/255) was expected to be "very limited" in practice as he recovers from a right shoulder injury. Mizzou is hoping he mends quickly ahead of the Vanderbilt game this weekend.
Nov 6 - 12:44 PM

Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam (shoulder) was expected to be "very limited" in practice as he recovers from a right shoulder injury.

Okwuegbunam (6'5/255) is Missouri's best pass-catching option, but the team did not miss a beat after the standout tight end went down in the first half of Saturday's blowout win at Florida. Should the redshirt sophomore be limited or unable to play in Missouri's Nov. 10 matchup with Vanderbilt, redshirt senior Kendall Blanton would be next in time for reps at tight end.
Nov 5 - 4:16 PM

Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's game against Florida due to a bruised right shoulder.

Okwuegbunam (6'5/255) left the game in the first half and subsequently was spotted heading into the locker room holding his arm. His being ruled out for the remainder is a tough turn of events for Missouri, though the Tigers look like they probably won't need him in earnest. They hold a 25-point lead late in the third quarter. Expect an update on his status in the near future.
Nov 3 - 6:31 PM

Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam head to the locker room holding his left arm during Saturday's game against Florida.

This would be a substantial loss for the Tigers, as Okwuegbunam is one of Drew Lock's top targets in the passing game. He's had a big first half with four catches for 46 yards and a score. Okwuegbunam exited with trainers, so we should have an update on his status shortly, and we'll pass along that information when it's presented.
Nov 3 - 5:11 PM

Per Pro Football Focus, Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam recorded 81 yards after the catch in Saturday's game against Memphis.

Okwuegbunam (6'5/255) caught 6-of-7 targets for 159 yards and three touchdowns in the Tigers' blowout win. He had a 158.3 passer rating when targeted and was electric with the ball in his hands. The physical specimen will take on Kentucky next Saturday.
Oct 21 - 11:22 AM

Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam brought in six passes for 159 yards and three scores in a 65-33 crushing of Memphis on Saturday.

The Memphis defense had no answer for Okwuegbunam (6'5/255), as he was consistently wide open over the middle of the field. The redshirt sophomore continues to be hit-and-miss in the 2018 season, but the talent is obvious. The Tigers need to get the ball in his hands more often if they are going to go bowling at the end of the 2018 season. A big game comes next Saturday for Okwuegbunam and Missouri against Kentucky.
Oct 20 - 7:43 PM

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline gives Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam a fourth-round grade coming into the 2018 season.

Okwuegbunam ranks second in Pauline's list of Missouri prospects for the draft, coming in behind quarterback Drew Lock. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound tight end had an inconsistent season in 2017, but he's certainly flashed next-level ability along with the size you look for in a red-zone threat. If he has a big 2018 season, it wouldn't be a big surprise if he was a top 100 selection in 2018.
Aug 19 - 10:31 AM

Missouri freshman TE Albert Okwuegbunam hauled in five receptions for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Friday's 48-45 win at Arkansas.

Okwuegbunam looks like the next great Mizzou tight end in the mold of Chase Coffman, Michael Egnew, A.J. Ofodile, Martin Rucker, etc. The freshman has visited the end zone four times over the past two weekends, and nine times across the past six contests. Next up is his first appearance in a bowl game. Okwuegbunam has a very bright future, and he is just getting started.
Fri, Nov 24, 2017 07:39:00 PM

Missouri freshman TE Albert Okwuegbunam scored two touchdowns and caught five passes for 116 yards in a 47-17 crushing of Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Okwuegbunam (6'5/260) has been a red zone factor for the Tigers all year, and has now scored nine touchdowns on his freshman campaign. It's the first time this year that the massive tight end has gone over 100 yards, but probably not the last over his career with Missouri. The resurgent Tigers are headed to a bowl after a 1-5 start and finish their year with Arkansas on Friday.
