Miami senior CB Michael Jackson was ejected in the first half of Saturday's game at Virginia for targeting.
Since the penalty occurred during the first half Jackson will not have to sit out a portion of Miami's October 26 game against Boston College. As for the remainder of Saturday's matchup, Miami will now have to make do without its best cornerback. Oct 13 - 7:49 PM

Miami senior CB Michael Jackson allowed two catches for seven yards on six targets in Miami's 31-17 win over Florida International.

Jackson's numbers in this one were good for a 42.4 passer rating allowed. After recording four interceptions last season Jackson has none so far this year. A lot of factors play into interceptions including opposing quarterbacks willingness to throw his direction, so it isn't a huge deal for the draft hopeful. Jackson will look to keep his receivers locked down next week against North Carolina.

Pro Football Focus notes that Miami senior CB Michael Jackson allowed the lowest passer rating among cornerbacks that were targetted in 2018 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

When passers targetted Jackson, their passer rating was a ridiculously low 19.7, which is twice as good as the next closest returner (Levonta Taylor, 44.5). Jackson briefly considered leaving for the NFL, but the 6-foot-1, 195-pound defender ultimately decided to return to the Hurricanes for his senior campaign. If he puts up similar numbers in 2018, he'll be among the first corners selected in 2019.

Miami junior CB Michael Jackson will return to school for the 2018 season.

There was some thought that Jackson might be leaning toward a draft declaration, here, but he'll be back to give it one more shot with the Hurricanes this year. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound junior posted 43 tackles to go with four interceptions for the 2017 campaign. That quartet of picks was good for the third-best mark in the ACC.

Miami beat writer Peter Ariz reports junior CB Michael Jackson is leaning towards entering the 2018 NFL Draft.

2017 was Jackson's only season as a starter, but like other Miami defenders he definitely took the next step. Thomas recorded four interceptions this season. Declarations aren't official until January.
